What i think is quite ironic is that all you people bowing their heads to the law are part of a community that most lawmakers want to or have already made illegal. I would of thought people on here , if anyone, would have a somewhat a healthy dislike for authority. I suppose you people would be saying something different if i was arrested for "dancing".

| Coolness: 28785 | most people have switched to the opus cards. My excuse is already borderline weak and i doubt saying i had an opus card , which uses a different machine and looks nothing like the old swipe cards, would work.

U will basicly claim that u owned the proper pass, and have, by accidental mistake, took the wrong one with you that day. Even with this anxiety attack thingy, u will still loose. The court show no mercy, it is there to apply strict rules, and never make any exception. The only hope u have is a no show from the stm agents. |

| Coolness: 28785 | is the court actually run by the STM ? I thought it was an actual court run by the city. Well, right now , i am just sending in my case with my ticket claiming not guilty. I can change my course of action when i arrive and they offer the plead guitly deal for a reduction.
I like to read so it isn't really wasting time. I will just read a book. |

 Coolness: 153930 | 1rst, if you had a regular pass, and you are over 25, what where you doing in the first place with a student card, they are emitted to 25yo and less, theoretically, you are being illegal just having this card, which proves that you are using it deliberately.
they wont take something like "its my sister's card" for an excuse. 2nd: having a "photocopy" of an actual pass, without having it for real, doesnt prove anything. "hey i have a photocopy of a 1 000 000$ check to my name, why cant i cash it??? ohh noesss =(" even tho we are pretty much against authority, what pisses us more is people over abusing the system, getting caught, and trying to makes us accomplice of them, and in the long run, making stm raise their fees because of people like you, thats whats pissing us more. |

The best way to avoid being caught red-handed is to not try and pull shit that'll get you caught in the first place. When you play by the rules, you don't arise suspicion and you can't get caught for stuff you ain't doing therefore dramatically reducing your stress level. That's how I do it anyway. Ended up not having to pay. THere are some prior rulings stating that error in use of card is not an excuse because the laws stipulate the importance of due diligence. The anxiety condition and symptoms associated with severe general anxiety was basically the only reason i wasn't found guilty. IT explained my lack of due diligence. I went to the actual municipal court and went over rulings related to what i did and got a better understanding of how the system works which helped me find out which reasons would work and what wouldn't. anyways, i am pretty happy about not having to pay. I am so in the hole. :) |
