well, I'm not too sure about the live sampling, but since you like scratching, you can make your own scratch phrases

There is a record feature in serato. So you can record from line 1 line 2 or the mic. Once the recordings are down you can set loops and cue points as you wish. Once you get comfy in rel mode serato is so fun to play with. You will want to get the keyboard shortcut list and gave a blast. You can map out any midi controller super easy I work with serato as well.

ok ok, I take it back, any tool can be used for good, but tools that make it a lot easier to use it badly are dangerous.

i never rely on the bpm counter on mixers or CDJs...i've beatmatched songs that were apparently at different tempos. machines, pfff, they have no ears :P
there are goods and bads about any music playing device, it really depends on how you use them. Originally Posted By RAWALI

another awesome trick is a simple calculator. the pitch difference is a percentage change, so if you know how to calculate percentage changes between two bpms, it gives the precise percentage change down to two digits after the .
makes mixing flawlesssly easy

why the hell wouldn't you just use your ears ?? lol .. you guys are turning Djing into a science project.. :P
btw, yeah, the .7 rule is great but you need ears to "hold" mixes and you have to understand which way to puch your "slightly offbeating" track (considering that the .7 rule doesn't hold 2 minute mixes) !!!!

QFT... anyways its not like i really have time to do any math in between mixes... and half the shit i mix is on vinyl anyways... so yeah .7 trick and/or using bpm counters sucks!
