get the names of the infections that spybot is picking up and google them for a walkthrough on how to clean them out..
At this point, though, if you're having trouble connecting to the internet and can't get stuff to run, it'll be faster, easier and less hassle to just format and re-install..

yea i'm really dreading to re-install windows, really trying to avoid that.
i'm gonna try googling them now. seems theres only 2 out of the 6 initial infections still present. "Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled" and the ever so lovely "Virtumonde.atr"

turn system reestore off in the My Computer properties.
Restart your computer Continually hit f8 during the reboot when a menu comes up, log in safemode with networking Re do your scans in safemode, delete / quarantine your infections and reboot normally. Problem is a lot of these viruses or spyware change things in your registry or they get into your startup menu, so by default they get re-installed everytime you reboot. Just remember after all this to turn system restore back on. Let me know how it works

is this a wise move?? | |

Restore points can become corrupted; this is often the result of a virus
infection. Once one or more restore points have become corrupted, all restore points are useless and need to be deleted. You do this by turning off System Restore on all drives and rebooting. After your computer starts again, turn on System Restore

AVG scans are clean, but spybot is still showing a couple of infections... how do i get this geeksquad app?? dialect , for the love of god. wow, started on my computer around 6:30am this morning when i got out of bed, ended up giving up by 9am, went over to my friends place, backed everything up finally and re-installed windows...
backing up 200 gigs of crap took way longer than i wanted, but i'm finally back home, back online, and trojan free. I've still yet to tackle re-installing all my audio programs, and all the stupid fuckin vst/vsti's again, but on a lighter note, i have an extra gig of ram installed, and a good idea of how i'm gonna turn this 5/6 year old beast into a beautiful quadcore in a week or two in exchange for my lowrider... maybe getting infected so severly was a good wake up call and blessing! p.s. my wiked cool computer repairing geek of a friend was telling me about this viscious trojan that's supposedly infecting millions of computers all over the world, and will only execute on april 1st 2009. [ www.scmagazineus.com ] "W32.Downadup.B — AKA Conficker — is a worm that’s infected tens of millions of PCs. W32.Downadup.B locks you out of system directories, and blocks your access to security websites and applications, such as Windows Automatic Update Service, Windows Security Center Service, Windows Defender Service (WinDefend), Windows Vista TCP/IP auto-tuning, and more. To further hide its presence in your computer, W32.Downadup.B deletes any System Restore points you’ve created."

fuck yeah, that's so anoying! We're not the early 90s anymore, chiptunes are not something we're interested in! Maybe, I dunno, do something involving the synths/VSTs we're generating a serial for so that we have an idea of what it can do?

the line i droped is the unix command to binary 2 winchester disk ( hard disk ).
when i punch this, i have to wait 36 hours to have a clone copy, ( yea i still use a 500mhz ) or at least get my prompt back from that shell. Update » cutterhead wrote on Wed Mar 18, 2009 @ 5:22am lone star , i dont assume , were all either aware or unaware. i make my part to have the masses of windows slave jump to unix or linux or inferno.
the more opensource is out there , the less the market will turn on individual ,and thoses individual will dictate the market's motion instead.
