Best Dj Mixing Software To Start Off With

| I am just curious because I am thinking of getting into DJ'ing but I'm not sure what software to get, I know i should probably get a machine, but I can't really afford that, so for now I just want to get some good software to get me started. So I would really appreciate any insight from the Very Popular DJs of this site, or anyone for that matter. |

| Traktor 2.6 (not the new 3/3.4), it's the closest you'll get to the higher-end CDJs or turntables; built in mixer, some simple effects, but more important is that it's just a really well done program.
You need at least a suround-sound soundcard (which, unless you've got a 10+ year old computer you have), you set it to monitor out the rear speakers and have the master output out the front, and then you plug your headphones into the rear speaker port and it works just like a real mixer.
The only thing that's a problem is that you're limited to one action at a time, since you only have one mouse, so you can't, say, use your left hand to move the volume-fader up while using a finger to tweak the bass, all the while using your right hand to move the other chanel's fader down and tweak it's bass using a finger..

it works with any midi-capable software and it gives you the same knobs/faders you'd have with a real mixer and CDJ/turntables. |
