Hey mike first thing that strikes me is that I think what's wrong with your first bass is that your trying to use a non psytrance type bass sound, in a psy way. I mean it sounds like the bass is changing on 16th notes with a lot of lag? ((I can't remember what it's called when a note instead of changing right away moves threw the scale before hand, i think it's like legato with a lot of bend, but I'm talking straight out of my ass now))

Secondly it really sounds to me that your like over eq-ing your music now. The bass sounds like it's cut at 40-50 hz, and your leads seem to be missing a little like lower end saturation that really tends to make them sound powerful. Like it sounds like they are being cut at about 400-500 hz... which works if your bass takes up that space, but your bass seems to be missing power in that region too.

I've started cutting my bass up into two sections now, like one for the low end and one for the higher end stuff. Try adding another sound in sync with your original bass to make up that low mid end maybe.

At the same time I think your percussions take up too much of the high end too.

Sometimes the best eq is no eq.

And yo we should chill sometime soon.
I'm feeling wtf charles? right now..

Pretty good trak,

I like the bass. Good structure. Pretty good mix.

Very cliché psytrance sounds, like those gated percussions and that kick.

Your track is lacking a strong lead to set it apart.
I'm feeling love right now..

I'll agree with Deadfunk, if it isn't actual psy, I'm definitely hearing full fledged psy.

Saying you use different sounds than what is usually used in psy only proves to me this style is a whole lot of rearranging the same samples and not a whole lot of creating a new track with new samples from the ground up.

Maybe I just found what I dislike about psy : redundancy. Hell, this track is brilliantly tailored, no doubt, but I've heard so much psy these past few months that I can definitely see the same pattern over and over again for mostly all tracks, just like progressive trance with its buildup, drop and such.

Don't get me wrong AlienZed, your track DOES rock and I think it does sound awesome but to me it sounds like a "connect-the-dots" psy track, the structure I've heard in 5000 other psy tracks before.

Maybe psy just isn't for me, I dunno. :(

Though i like psytrance a lot, it's definatly not music to take e to. Shrooms, lsd or any other psychadelic, but not e.

Want good music for e: prog house, deep house or prog trance. Even epic trance is better for taking e than psy.

jumpin in a little late on this thread, but anyway i think the overall sound is 'aight. what i noticed is at around the 5 min mark i was getting really tired of the track. i would suggest maybe some more unique elements of you in the music. whether it be a melody, or i dunno, something to help it stand apart from the rest...

one thing i enjoyed about your track were the little connections between new parts. i found some of them creative and pleasing to the musician in me.
