Why be afraid of Facebook when sites like Brightkite exist?

I mean, we're talking Facebook + Twitter + voluntary GPS tracking system in one package!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuun.
I'm feeling happy right now..

i fail to see why we switched all to digital...

i read a book about smart card development while it was still in the making,
they poked everything about the criptography inside ... while claiming its not reliable.

and meanwhile, some stupid asses release in ULTRAMAR/ESSO, the transponder , that link your credit card on a rf transponder , so you dont need to take the card out.

i mean come on. rf meter / logger and voila.

and an other meanwhile. while hospitals already cant cope with hard copy files, they want nothing
to do with it , and propose that you carry it around with you instead. or the access to the central
at least.

while all these entity release stuff thats prety state of the art, they did deploy technology that
isnt even secure at all, and pretty much like the HARD COPY ASCII characters on the strip of your atm / credit card, the only security feature is that

a normal human will not pull a hack, unless he deliberately take the steps to, while knowing that when he will he still will succeed.

thats their security feature. you can ask anybody else than me if i trust electronic,

i trust only the laws of physics and knots theory.
I'm feeling 4hz even if you dont right now..

i think peopel who are concerned about privacy think way to much of themselves. You're not important enough for facebook, a $5B company, to sell your most intimate details to a 3rd party. They wouldnt risk the loss of face (lol pun) for you.
On the flip side, if facebook can get better stats on our age group for marketers and companies, perhaps they will be able to make better products for us, or sponsor events we actually care about. IMO theres very little downside to facebooks privacy policy.

THe real problem is people and the 3rd party applications made by shitty companies. Cuz they can use the info do real damage to you; thats why I keep my info private and have no 3rd party apps. I dont want no recruiters or random programmers checking out my profilia and wall.
I'm feeling apathetic right now..

plus

if you crack copyright and live and tell about it they get the goods out.

a life on paper is worth more than a live one.

if you use your real name and real life details online, then your information is real to those whom you may not want it to be, even on this site... the internet is a great resource for communication and information, but it is not to be trusted as secure or private for any one... but you could always just slip and fall when getting out of the shower and crack your head open, then it wouldn't matter...

A regular cellphone will give away your location too. GPS just makes it more accurate.

you history , cache and oldest to latest page visited too.

how do you think spammers get your email address , you visit porn, and login gmail before, they can pull the address you typed.

authorisation/sharing its divided in 3 class :

personnal
buizness
isp

normally one cant access the other, but this is only a suggestion on the draft, they do cross exchange remote management console infomation.

How is that private ?

It's like saying nobody's supposed to know you're driving a Toyota. It's not like I can do anything malicious now that I know you drive a type of car who's logo is clearly displayed on its front end.

The reason a page will check for your OS and browser is to assure it's displayed properly, that's pretty much it.

Everyday I deal with people who think their cellphones have been hacked and there are questions I would ultimately like to ask them but can't :

"What makes you think you're important enough to be hacked ? Do you work in a special undercover government test facility ? Are you a chemist on the brink of discovering a cure for cancer ? No ? Well, unless you have an ex you've pissed off enough to warrant the extra attention, why would a hacker hack your broke-ass prepaid phone ?"
