Heres a thought: There are all these European players on the habs - Kovalev, the Kostitens, Hamrlik, Koivu, etc. Price is Canadian. Halak is European.

Halak wins the starting job. Carbo plays Price again and again, giving all the chances in the world to price, and then finally chooses Halak again (20 games after he had fairly won the job). Then Carbo gets fired (interesting timing to say the least), and Gainey gives the starting job back to price. Price loses 4 straight in the playoffs, even though its obvious Halak should be in for games 3 and 4. How do you think the European players felt?

I think the Canadians seasons went downhill because the European players saw Halak treated like a 2nd class player due to blatent favoritism towards an Canadian goalie. If Halak's name was "Pierre-Alexandre Varcoux" or "John Nash" Halak would have been given the starting job when he won it.

Another thing. Halak is only 23. He's European, so not only does he have to play in a hot bed at a young age (like Price), but he also has to get use to a new country and a new language. He is capable of being a star in this league, just like Price. I dunno why Gainey is blind to that. In San Jose they were so blinded by Nabokov that they sent Kipprasoft to Calgary...and then Kipper took the Flames to the finals.

Halak has shown more poise, more bounce back ability, and has shown his ability to win games. Its arguable that Price is the goalie of the future.

Gainey deserves to be fired for this

they seemed to geer Price, but when they screamed, just as he made the easy save in the 2nd, there was 4:20 left in the period...coincidence?

but yeah, i can't believe they didn't put in Halak after game 2...but when the team can only score 1 goal, you have to have a damn perfect goalie.

It can't fall on Price because, again, the Canadiens' defense is so for shit, I'd let a few one in if I kept being shot at every 15 seconds too.

Even Halak would be just as worse in the conditions Price has to play regularly. The Canadiens' defense is the worse in the League and offense, well offense and any better seeing as how they can't complete a fucking pass if their lives depended on it, they can't even begin to steal the puck from the opposing players and they ALL SHOOT FROM THE FUCKING BLUE LINE.

Forget passes, they are so terrified of being in the offensive zone, they shoot from the blue line or get rid of the puck.

Pathetic. I just hope new season's lineup is fondamentally different.

Was pretty upset about last nite, but personaly, it's the story of my life at the moment, so I guess I was pretty much expecting that to happen...

on a more positive note, this is a reply I cooked up due to some serious ribbing I received via email today at work from some habs hating colleagues :

" Any team can have a rough season, this was one for us. So we didn’t go past first round but at least we made it to the playoffs. So maybe this wasn’t our year, but at least we’ve had a 100. So maybe Stanley isn’t coming home to us, but its no biggie, he knows where we live, he’s been over to our place 24 times…

Not every hockey fan is classy, not every fan has taste, but the best ones ever can lose but do so with pride and grace… "

Ufot-see you next season boys, at least, see some of you ?

Ps-yes, I have considered writing for hallmark before, I may do so for real one day, who can say no to cash money?
I'm feeling broken in the heart right now..

Well? LETS TRADE! who cares about the players being pissed off anyways? boo-hoo I make as much cash in one game as an average person does in one year. Screw them, lets get lecavalier.

Good fucking riddance if they do exchange them. And quite honestly, fuck it if the players are pissed : they're already disgruntled to begin with, or otherwise they'd fucking PLAY like actual NHL players, with heart and will, not like minor league rejects with 400-pound skates.

I'm sorry but if you're paid a few million dollars a year for a defensive position, FUCKING DEFEND OR GTFO. You're getting (over)paid for a fucking job, BETTER DAMN WELL DO IT.

I'm tired of making excuses for a bunch of jaded hockey players who could barely feed their families overseas, come here, get extra-rich extra-fast, buy houses and cars 4 times the size of ours and STILL find ways to be blasé and play for shit.

I'm sure we can find a shitload of guys in the minor leagues who are just itching to show their stuff in the major leagues. Shitloads. But no, we take guys who can speak none of the 2 official languages in their country, gave them 5 year contracts to which they can't even complete a fucking pass on their second season.

Centennial Patches for jerseys: 10$ each

Having a decent goalie: Price-less.
