Freddy was awesome in the first two.. he was actually creepy and evil.. After that he was just a joke, he wasn't scary.. He was just an idiot that threw stupid one-liners out.. The movies were cool visually and plot-wise, but the character of Freddy became this big joke..
He's supposed to be this child-killing psycho, you're not supposed to laugh at him, you're not supposed to want to see him get away with what he's doing..
Jason took a while before becoming a sad self-parody; Jason Goes to New York is pretty much where things took a turn for the worst.. just walking through manhattan and killing some punks with hundreds of people around? He's supposed to be this silent killer that you can't stop and that you never see coming; a legend that people whisper about at night..
This new Friday the 13th looks awesome; they're re-telling the story, and they're turning him back into a crazy motherfucker that butchers people, as opposed to a body-hopping demon or Jason in Space..
les vieux films d'horreur étaient vraiment mieux faite que les nouveaux meme si la technologie était pas autant avancer .. !!! Au moin ont s'en tenait à l'horeur et pas juste la science fiction.

Absolutely.. Some recent stuff is good, but the older movies are so much better.. The Deadly Spawn, the first two Nightmare On Elm Street, the original Night/Dawn/Day of the Dead zombie trillogy, Death Ship.. You just don't get quality like that anymore, things are too polished and clean..
I think even if they would just go back to using old film that's grainy and scratched up and doesn't transfer colours properly it would go a long way to making better horror movies..
