im selling my bike, i bought it cuz its fucking nice as hell, but usually when i bike, i'm in a rush to get sumwhere, or im biking long distance, and this bike is more for just enjoying life, and riding in style.

i put an add up on kijiji, for 300$, but if you like the bike, dont hesitate to make me an offer/exchange etc.
I'm feeling your nuts right now..

i know a lot about these kinda bikes
and that shwin looks like piece of shit...
you'd be lucky if you could make it to the dep and back on a charge and you'd probably have to send it to god knows where to get it serviced.
i got one of these last year, but all black...

it goes more than double the speed of the shwin, gets 40km per charge, has an alarm system and has built in firmware that readjusts the amount of torque used for hill climbing.
one of my buddies has a shop down on notre dame near guy.

if your interested in these kinda bikes you should stop buy and take a test drive.
they are really perfect for cruisin' around the city and they cost about 25 cents to charge.

the electric bikes suck... i had one for a week, used it once before selling it at a 100$ loss... then i got a real scooter and it's just way way way better... you can probably pickup a used scooter for about 1200$ if your luckey.

naw...
you probably just had a shit bike noah... or a bad battery...
the market is saturated with shitty models and you get what you pay for.
if you got something with 500w and a good battery it can be an ideal city bike since they can go places gas scooters aren't allowed (ie. hop on the bike path if your stuck in traffic)
you also gotta know how to take care of the battery...
if you keep the battery "topped off" by not letting it drain down to nothing you can get 300 charges easily out of a regular battery or 1000 charges out of a lithium ion cell.
it's also important to keep your battery charged in the winter when you are not using the bike.
otherwise it'll drain to shit from sitting there and you won't be able to charge it to its full potential when spring time comes round.
not to mention... if your a tree hugger...
you got your carbon footprint to consider.
getting a vintage vespa might look cool, but it's a known fact that the older scooter models emit more emissions than most cars do.
but yeah...
electric bikes and scooters are not for everybody.
but for most montrealers who got a place to plug in and don't travel more that 40km a day it could be pretty ideal during the warmer months.

It crapped out on hills the electric bike... My scooter can go up a steep hill at 40km/hour and on the road at 65-70... I can also carry another person on my scooter, the electric bike I would not do that with. Montreal is full of hills... Maybe if I was in verdump where there is no hills I'd use it but it's would get stolen in about 2 minutes...

don't forget what you are comparing here noah...
its apples to oranges baby!!!
a bike is not a scooter...
you basically got 4 different classes of electric bike...

electric bicycles:

- no license required
- max legal top speed 32km/ hour
- allowed on city bike paths
- pedal assisted

scooter style electric bicyles:

- no licence required
- max legal top speed 32km/ hour (can be supped up to go 40km/ hour but if you get caught you can be charged with operating an unlicensed low speed motorcycle)
- allowed on city bike paths
- pedal assisted

electric scooters:

- scooter license required
- the ones that are street legal in canada reach a max top speed of 65 km/ hour

electric motorcycles:

- not yet street legal in canada (but hopefully soon)
- can reach 125 MILES / hour

if you were comparing your scoot to an electric scooter in the same class as a 49cc and not a bike...
you would discover that electric scooters actually have more torque than gas scooters and would most likely make it up those hills faster than gas providing the battery is fully charged.

if your in NYC next summer there is a good chance you'll see the COPS riding these bad boys.

this model is currently being tested for north America by the NYPD.
