The site now uses Sphinx Search for searching. It's super fast and works great. There are a couple of problems like if the title of the thread has the search word in it, then all messages from that thread will appear. It's kind of annoying and I'll think of a way to fix that at some point cause I can't think of any now.
Also new message will not appear in the search. Every day I'll update the database. Maybe later I'll find a better way to do this... |

Weight the body to be worth more than the subject.

There is a better way to do that actually... But still I have no idea how to get the message updates included... They should have a better way to load the data...

You don't have to load everything as 1 database. You can make multiple dbs..

So the updates will be in another DB... What's the point of that? How do I load the updates up from the same search?

Hmm, not sure. You really can't make a join that will work? what are you using as the key? the thread id or reply id? if it was me, i'd use the thread id and have the reply id as meta data so you can highlight the actual text once you find the thread.. (hmm, now that i think about it, i'm not sure i'd do it that way)...... hmmmmmmm
