 Coolness: 165710 | actually not all big poker player think like that ! i mean yeah you can play pretending you have something with any 2 cards... but NOwadays youll get call more often with people having anything!
so you will get busted ! but whatever i think everything is valid and its interesting to see people with different strategy come to the table! it would suck if everybody would play using the same strategy ! |

Mike Tyson once said "Everyone has a strategy, until I hit them." Phil Ivey said "The best strategy is no strategy" I take this to mean....It's wrong to go into a game with a strategy because things change second to second and person to person. If you think you need to set up an image, a good player will only figure you out with time. If you are unpredictable and change gears constantly and adjust to the situations at hand it's hard to tag you down. That's why it's so important to use multi-tier thinking in poker (if he knows that if I represent weakness when I am strong and I know he knows, what should I do?) AND thinking many moves ahead like... - if you limp in the cutoff with K2s and the button raises and the BB re-raises...what would I do? or - if I call with K2s in the cutoff and it's called around and the flop comes A K 9 rainbow (or a million other hands like that), what would I do? or - if I RAISE with K2s in the cutoff and maybe I can buy the button and represent a big hand so that if I get callers I am in position representing with a huge hand...if they raise on the flop up front and I know that they know that I was bluffing preflop because I set up an aggressive image and I've bet in position too often, what would I do? If someone is going to take the approach of keeping and image or a strategy...the very least they have to do is understand that people are going to be interpreting their play and then figure out how they should act once they've been deciphered. |
