1 ) i shove the speaker in front of you.

2 ) send the 8hz signal or 6hz even whatever

3 ) have you notice what you hear.

4 ) show you the corresponding airborn pressure from a meter made especially for that, again in front of you

but that include you being a willing participant , and have your attention for the seance.

other ginea pig tested : myself , friends and neibours who complaint.

4hz at 140db , YOU WILL HEAR
Update » cutterhead wrote on Tue Jan 13, 2009 @ 4:38pm
8hz at 140db, YOU WILL HEAR

since your soo much by the textbook mind telling me how many db is your hearing extremes ?

im going all out and shove 1500W amp out to get only that sound, its a commercial amp, made to do the whole spectrum and can be used as a base amp for an antenna station.

at 40 Amps per channel, you get that clear signal right up to the neibour's house. and if you play the attack just right , i can even hit the neibour with a 0.0025% frequency slide.

This conversation is useless.

None of the professional sound equipment i use goes that low.

I will never wilfully sit directly in front of a speaker belting out 140dbs, of anything.

Just a thought, maybe what you are hearing with your test, are the harmonics of the sound in question.
140db,s of gain and you are bound to hear a harmonic popping out, or a resonant harmonic from the building structure, or a standing wave.

Maybe infa-sounds are real important to you, But for sound techs that work with real live clients/peoples, it is not, quite the opposite.

T'aurais avantage a rester polie.

nope , straight 4hz on up. not the harmoniques, the main wave, but

yep talking to you is useless beyond page 3.

have you engineer any of the equipement you use ? have you calibrated it ? rebuilded it ?

have you tested what you have ? did you do your own frequency response test or are you just going

with the integer the manifacturer gave you ?

you discriminated the 70s systems , where after the 80s all systems took a diet of quantity in order
to save buiznesses incomes. now your saying its crap what they used 30-40 years ago while your still listening to a zep record, i mean , even if you dont. all the pressing done on vinyl TODAY is thoses machines made BEFORE 1980 , no cutter have being retailed after that, unless its vinylium made in 2002 on up.

now take a one cycle at 100db , you tell me you dont hear it. ha, dude you would feel it soo much you would know its the brown noise.

anyways i prefer talking to people who test things and know for facts , that shoving me copy paste of that they just found on the net.

cutterhead, sorry to pop out like this, but right now, im in school, RAC (recording arts of canada)
and we just learned that we cannot hear anything below 20 hz, the ear is not made to hear that low, is you hear something below 20hz, id suggest to go check your ears, maybe you have something in your ears that is special, because non of the 3 teachers, and the 2 books, say that we can "normally" hear something below 20, whatever the db spl its playing at. Maybe its playing, maybe you can "feel" it, but you cant hear it.

dont get mad on me, thats what i learned yesterday.

you can now continue your vendettas =P

Tested what I have? I have been working in professional sound studios and the best live venues in Quebec for the past 10 years.
I am not a maintenance tech, dont have the time nor the interest to test the equipment i use beyond: does everything work? is it what i nead? and the testing i do with my ears.
Even if you did hear sound at 1hz, it is totaly useless to any musical program. The articulation of almost all sounds perceived with our ears happens between 500hz and 6khz.
The whole art of EQing is to discriminate against the useless frequencies by cutting them, and by emphasizing the ones that characterize the sound. Its not a question of "more freq. make for richer sound".

The 70's systems have there positive and negative aspects. But the fact is, its all going on a digital mediums, so you have to consider the digital aspect no mater what. you still only have 700megs on your cd. You can chose to fill half that space with inaudible frequencies (cus bass freq. need a lot more energy to be heard (140db!?)), or you can chose the ones that make a REAL difference to the listener.

databoy , tell me , you say we hear from 500 to 3000 now, totaly different than 1-2 pages ago,

stuff you just browsed and you actually said you knew shit about the innerworking of the amp and couldnt care less, you also brought subsoud being a destructive to the apparatus when that theory is about material tolerance to stress.

okay you dont even say if its on a linear scale or log , and on top you dont GIVE THE PRESSURE AMOUT.

bro if i hake you at a 100 pound tork 4 times per second, you will feel the effects.

Let me rephrase: I will go back to to mixing (cus thats what i do for a living) and you will go back to doing whatever it is you do.

have fun
