j'abaisse aucunement les breaks...on the other hand, hard work makes the scene bigger, like the hardcore poeps who have worked hard to rebuild since the busts that destroyed the scene after Paradise all those years ago. and it is getting bigger. maybe the breaks promoters (i.e Bliss) aren't trying hard enough? But don't take that the wrong way; i don't know, and i'm not insulting anyone...but i'm glad that people like you, Melo, are trying to 'educate' the uninformed in the ways of breaks...

i work and converse with the info i'm given, and the info here seems contradictory...

anyway, it doesn't really matter. i can't do this anymore... .. .

Na, when I started the GRILL

There was no breaks scene to speak off in Montreal

10 years later, there are dozens of djs and many promotors, and judging from Picnik enuff people that appreciate the music

besides breaks is just one style I play

I was involved in Montreal's original electro clubnights Chemistry and Voyeur

That was back when there was no electro scene either. Look how big it is now :)

And getting back to the breaks NA

Don't shit on me, I provided an excellent breaks clubnight for close to 5 years straight, that was recognized as one of the best breaks weeklies worldwide by cats in UK and the rest of Canada

You're promoting your style of music in a drama thread...there's nothing positive about that, you're just proving once again that drama only revolves around breaks. And it's quite obvious.

That's just as dumb as starting a drama thread to promote an event or mix. It's redundant and negative.

I totally disagree,

We don't have any drama in the breaks scene

The only major incidents we've ever had was when Broken made a move on my night and when Rhys punched out Murdock

Aside from that, its all gravy between all of us.

We all respect each other and love working together

#1 there's YOU. You ARE the drama in the breaks scene bro, don't fuckin deny it. Rhys punching Murdock is a second example, IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM HAS THAT HAPPENED IN THE DNB SCENE, EVER! NO ONE HAS TOUCHED A SOUL! :)

#3 Broken and Sase and Rhys and ALL those cats we're ALWAYS BEEFING! Joey Crisp ring a bell? He would talk shit about ALL the breaks cats simoultaniously, him and Pinky we're ALWAYS beefing. So what the fuck are you talking about? If there are ANY scenesters in Montreal that have fought and caused drama the MOST it's the BREAKS and HIP-HOP kids. NOT DNB. Get your facts straight bro. I can't name one time ppl beefed over stealing nights or ANYTHING like that, Drum'n'Bass kids ALWAYS work through thei problems, and it never results in 35 year old dudes punching ppl out for getting smack with rubber chickens. And who the fuck brings a rubber chicken to a party if not to start trouble? Breaks kids thats who.

bliss, 'm pretty sure that those nights or styles became well liked because people enjoyed the music, and other promoters' hard work. not because of anything you did (at least not only 'cause of what you did)... "i was involved in" means you rode the coattails and took credit. But don't worry, you're still a superstar :/

please stop addressing me so that i can stop responding. incase you aren't able to step up, i'll just remove myself...

(hey, are you still going to the party later tonight Host?)

Thats a fucking joke and a half. Dnb cats are the WORST for drama

As for that Broken/Sase bullshit, here's the story

Rhys screwed over Sase, its not the first time he's screwed over anyone either

What happened was Sase started Broken Crew

Rhys then got the rest of the crew to kick him out after Sase was apparently stressing Melon

Melon came to me crying about how Sase was bullying him

I then got into a fight with Sase because I was angry with what Melon had told me

Turns out Melon was a lying piece of shit

So yeah there was a little drama here and there. I wasn't the one formenting it

P.S. Joey Crisp is a nobody in breaks
Update » Blisss wrote on Sun Jan 11, 2009 @ 5:51pm
For the record me and Sase have been friends since 1996, although we got "competitive" in the past, we always had a lot fo mutual respect for each other.

Same goes for the Planet Break guys.
Update » Blisss wrote on Sun Jan 11, 2009 @ 6:01pm
And Na, all the breaks events I did at the Grill, I picked the guests and I did all the organizing with T'cha as well as invest my own money

I paid for Krafty Kuts with my own rent money, thats how broke I was back then
Update » Blisss wrote on Sun Jan 11, 2009 @ 6:03pm
For Voyeur, me and Jordan had a promoter for own night

Yeh Nate I'm supposed to play, steve won't answer his phone to give me a timeslot

And Bliss, if a nobody DnB cat like ME knows about ALL the beef that went on in the Breaks scene but can't name ONE beef that happened in his own scene, well you do the math bro, you're already topping the beef cake with mad cherries, I don't even have one to put up on there. Unless you're couting personal non-scene related beefs. Breaks takes the cake dude. Dont deny it. And if Joey is such a nobody why does he have such strong opinions on ppl in this scene dude? Did you guys dodge him or insult him or take something away from him too? It's looking like there's a pattern of ppl fucking one another over in Breaks. All I'm saying, someone called the cops on my Upbeats party, costingv me 1700$, I never retaliated or hurt anyone for it, I sucked it up like a GOOD SPORT and that's why I'm still here today. In Breaks, someone's "melon" woulda got split and there would have been at least 2 threads on the subject..just shut up. Seriously.

There is no hate or beef in the current breaks scene

You will see it at Planet Break and you will see it at the Adam Freeland/Evil Nine show

We are lovers not fighters
Update » Blisss wrote on Sun Jan 11, 2009 @ 5:57pm
Joey Crisp was bitter about not getting booked. The kid was a loose cannon for many years. He had a drinking problem and would go crazy on people when he was wasted

I actually managed to chill the guy out over time. He definitely didn't do much for the scene when he was around

As for your party, I'm very sorry to hear about that

Who called the cops? tell me, because I wanna know

If it was a "breaks" guy, he'll be blacklisted from the scene.

Thats not what we're about

I don't attend breaks nights, they're fucking boring, actually. Always the same 15 dj's, always playing the same shit. It's a yawn for me bro, tbh. I went to all those Blizzart's nights, didn't dance once, wonder why. The vibe sucks harder than a raggae night.

And it's quite possible a breaks promoter called them on me, that isn't the point.
Just the fact that kind of beef happens in your circles is fucked, that's why I stay away.
I still can't name one beef in DNB other than some fuckhead pouring beer into Corey's record bag,
who was from where? The HIP HOP scene, why? Cause corey didn't let him on the Mic. Sounding quite familiar.

All this tit for tat bullshit is wack, I don't play that shit homie. And nor does anyone in Drum'n'Bass.

what drama in the break scene are you talking about? and secondly,i was talking to my friend N.A in a positive way ,argumenting cuz i like talking to him.I dunno alex why you do such a mountain about that.I'm opinionating on a forum friendly not dissing anyone. Now you are talking shit about the break scene for no reasons even if you don't attend those events.I never saw a better crowd EVER than the planet break crew.Everyone Smiling and having fun.My 2 cents. You only talk about Rhys that you already hate for some reasons ignoring PINKY,Kai,George,Spacekadet,me,Nino etc.. who'S negative in here? surely not me heh

Ouffff!

I could give you a dozen dnb drama stories right of the bat if I had the time to write them

There's a reason the dnb scene died a while back

I asked Jordan Dare once why he dosen't still play dnb, you know what he told me:

"All they do is fight, I'm sick of it"

whoa whoa, I hate Rhys? Wtf are you talking about sweetheart? Did you see me post that anywhere? I never said I hated anyone. Name one person in the Drum'n'Bass scene that's punched someone else from the Drum'n'Bass scene in the face at the CLUB no less? Hmm? Can you name one? No, you can't. So we're still on the same page. You talking baout breaks in a DRAMA thread further proves my point that you have no shame in your game. So just keep assuming you're right, that's not how ppl view it. If you're trying to mediate and divert the situation, well stop perpetuating it by posting about irrelevant shit in it! lol Pretty simple. The only reason we got to this point is because you won't take the time to bump the postive threads and use them. Point finale.

And Bliss, you not being able to name ONE of those TWELVE stories you supposedly have, shows everyone how full of shit you can really be.

We've already named countless problems Breaks have caused, now name one from DNB, thats your task for the next few minutes, go call Jordy boy up and ask him why he only plays Electro, I'll bet he can't even remember why. Cuase those beefs are insignificant compared to those of the Breaks quad.

I,m not posting irrelevant shit.I just don't see how a bliss drama turns into a breakbeat drama. You don't like the man ,fine, but don't bash the whole scene.ANd you told mee you didn't like Rhys before and i clearly remember that.THe point i'm saying is,you want to bash bliss Fine guyz,i don't even care. But doN't put everyone in the basket.George got slapped because he put a plastic chicken in his ass and slap it in Rhys Face after. He surely doesn't deseve a punch, but Rhys has is own problem of attitude. This is an incident that could have happen between 2 other drunk people everywhere.Instead of that story, nothing happen recently that bad in the break scene. That's it that's all.

Dude, that's not it! AT ALL!!!!

you just opened a pandora's box of BULLSHIT melo! Claiming on a public forum the people I dislike, for what? You don't even realise you're STARTING FUCKING BEEF RIGHT NOW! Is that another point for Breaks? I think so, you claiming that I hate someone when that isn't even true at all, airing my personal business for everyone to see, is disrespectful. I didn't insult any scene nor did I bring up all the personal little beefs you have with people. So WHAT THE FUCK? Thats it that's all? you just reved the engine honey, sorry but I don't think that's the way to go about it at all.

I don't hate Rhys at all, he rubbed me the wrong way once, but not enough for me to HATE him.
What Melo said is a lie, and she should probably put her drink down for a second and think before typing again.
