but if hes so great why does he need to come to us "the small people"!
and the funniest part is... he wrote me a msg sayin how im not a DJ and he tells me that with his 20years behind his belly ehaheaheh! i dont even reply that shit because hes right im not a dj anymore ! i mean i will do a gig here and there for fun but i dont count on djing money to survive! maybe thats why hes so upset... hes not making enough money ... i know that tiesto, paul van dyke are making enough to live well! but thats about it... other guys struggle and dont complain about the fact that they work for the scene , since they love what they do and enjoy every second of it :) :) sorry i didnt want to have to share my opinion but he has no problem sharing his about my person !

I was never banned from mtldnb, I posted the review of Picnik a couple of months ago actually,
The problem is no one goes on there anymore, so all the haters are over here causing drama When am I gonna blow up? Maybe it was in 2000 when we got a front page article on the Grill, Or maybe it was when I started playing at Chemisttry, Montreal's original electro clubnight, Maybe it was when I was a resident at Voyeur, Maybe it was when I played the Montreal Jazz Festival, or headlined Picnik (played there for 3 years running, rocked it every time) I been mentionned as one of Montreals best djs repeately, played every single festival, dropped beats with a large number of internationally known artists. I play a couple of times every week, held down groundbreaking world known weeklies for many years (The Grill (- Breaks, Chemistry/Voyeur (- Electro/Acid House) I'm perfectly happy with what I've accomplished, its a lot more than I ever thought So might argue I blew up 10 years ago and you guys just have a hard time accepting it HATERS ;) Update » Blisss wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 10:57pm I still have to update this bio.
Dj Bliss has been playing the city's club scene every week over a decade and is frequently mentionned as one of Montreal best djs in the local press . He regularly explores a number of musical styles ranging from all styles of Breaks and Electro and House. Recognized as one of the city's most musically diverse djs, Bliss is a purist's nightmare. He has been involved in a number of very successful club nights notably The Grill (Breakbeats) and Voyeur (Electro). Over the past few years he has played hundreds of venues across the city, from small clubs to afterhours events alongside such luminaries as Dj Krush, Afrika Bambaataa, MSTRKRFT, Girl Talk, Freddy Fresh, Kool Herc, Atomic Hooligan, Aquasky, Thievery Corporation, Kid Koala, Krafty Kuts, Bebel Gilberto, Bonobo and The Streets to name a few. During his 20 years as a Dj, Bliss has traveled and played all over the world, notably the U.S., Africa, Israel, France and the UK. His first club residency in Montreal was at one of the city's oldest nightspots Le Passeport (in 1997) where he was the main resident for 3 years playing a mix of Electro, Breaks, Industrial and Alternative sounds to a packed house every Friday and Saturday. In 1999, Bliss co-founded The Grill (with Dj T'cha). It eventually became the most reputable and longest running weekly of its kind (4 years). Often referred to as a "breaks" institution its reputation stretched well outside Montreal, not only for its global approach to breaks but also for its unique party atmosphere and notable out of town breakbeat superstars such as Krafty Kuts and Atomic Hooligan. It was voted second Best Club Night by the Montreal Mirror poll in 2001. The Voir voted Bliss among Montreal's top 3 funkiest Djs in its 2002 poll. In 2003, Bliss also become resident at Chemistry, Montreal's longest running electro orientated club night (originally founded by Jordan Dare). Packed and sweaty every weekend it quickly became Montreal's "point de reference" for all things electro. In 2004 the night was into revamped Voyeur with Bliss and Jordan Dare as residents to become one of the best club nights in Montreals recent history. In 2005 the immensely popular Voyeur weekly was moved to the much bigger Societe Des Arts Technologique venue where it continued to occur on a monthly. Bliss has also been resident at a number of other specialized club nights such as Flexout (IDM/Breaks) and is the founder of the monthly Mind The Gap event, Montreal's only night dedicated to British Pop & Indie music. He also hosted a short lived internet radio show in 2000 (Beats N`Breaks on [ Sweet-ting.com ] and worked for many years as manager and Breaks/Electro buyer for the renowned Noize record store. Bliss also produces music with longtime friend Freqboy under the name Answer. He has also been featured in a number of short documentaries and movies (in particular a documentary on St. Laurent) and has guested on many of the cities major radio stations.

There you go,
You don't see me hating on your success, I have nothing but respect for your hard work Big up! Update » Blisss wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 10:50pm Clown, you're what we call an "uncoming" dj, keep at it, maybe you'll do something original at some point and get noticed. Right now you're just a *yawn* techno dj who's played a couple of raves Update » Blisss wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 10:52pm Aprizm, you remix Britney Spears songs. You dj in your bedroom. The main reason you don't make any money djing is that no one will pay you money to hear your shit. You're what we call a "poser" dj Update » Blisss wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 10:55pm Bodkin, you're 40, no ones knows you, the only redeeming quality you have is that you stuffed envelopes at Ninja Tune for a few years. Its funny to note Bodkin got subsequently FIRED from Ninja tune because of the shit he was starting on mtldnb

actually, Clown is a very well established dj who throws one of the biggest parties of the year, 5 years straight... IMO! And i'm sure he will, in fact, keep at it, though i don't think he cares about "making it big".
/just sayin'... | |

No Mickos, I'm actually really smart,
The way you guys promote me constantly is amazing, I don't even need an agent! Merci encore, je vous adore :) Update » Blisss wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 11:16pm For a well established dj, Clown comes off like a 12 year old who's just got decks and needs to prove something.
Funny how you mention about making it big. I've never cared about making it big. I just do what I love. Couldn't see myself doing anything else. I couldn't give a flying fuck about fame

y'know i'm not looking for a fight, bliss, but give Clown a break, y'know damn well that you also act like a 12 year old sometimes too...
please, you have to quit pissing on DJs/promoters/producers that are well loved here in MTL. Maybe you think it's good promo, but you don't help yourself by tearing apart other people's reputations. I've seen it happen too many times, people who can't raise themselves above the others, so they drag those other people down to their level. I'm not accusing you of anything, not putting you down, just saying that this is all very unhealthy, and i suggest that you give it a rest... i'm trying to be fair here (even if you may think that you are the victim)...realize that what started as a discussion about racism all those months ago, turned into a battle of wits, then sank to a frustrating embarrassment and a black eye on this site... my half a cent. Update » Nathan wrote on Fri Jan 9, 2009 @ 11:38pm ...and if anyone calls 'drama' on this now, and accuses me of perpetuating it, i'm gonna kick them square in the nuts.
I'm feeling you up right now.. |
