I beat the game last night.
I love the "Liberty Prime" robot at the end. He has so many funny one-liners.

Enjoy, Mico. It is an excellent game. It is rather rare to see the level of detail put into a game like this these days. The atmosphere is just so depressing...what you would expect from a country ravaged by a nuclear war.

Thanks! I was bent on going out and getting Farcry 2, but then I started checking out all the reviews on Fallout 3, and didn't know what to do! I'm still a little torn on the two games, but in the end I think I'll get Fallout... I've been waiting a long time to try a new RPG, especially on the PS3.

Fallout 3 was cool, but I was expecting it to have more quests.
I was able to burn through it in 3 days without trying to rush to the end.

you obviously didn't do eeeeeeeeeverything, though. The main storyline, yeah there's only a set amount of quests to go through, but depending on your personality and how you answer things/if you have good/bad karma, you get different quests from people.
Also, if you blow up megaton city, yeah there are a ton of quests you can't get, but there's a whole new area of the game that opens up that you couldn't get to with new quests, and even weapons/items you couldn't get if you'd just dissarmed it.

Really ? Crap, I should just blow it up then...although I dispatched Mr.Burke. And I just learned a nice tidbit about my status too : [ fallout.wikia.com ] Yeah, that part about killing Burke. LOL.

from what I remember reading, also, there are a ton of variant endings.. Like, yeah, maybe only 5-6 "main" endings, but each of those "main" endings have 10-15 possible variations based on who you killed, what quests you completed, how you completed them, what important gear you might have taken/missed, etc..
In a developer interview some time when the first gameplay videos of the game came out, they said that there were 'currently' over 250 endings, and that they weren't finnished scripting all the quests yet, so that more were certain to show up by the release.

I did all the major quests. I even did all the quests by moira, including blowing myself up 3 times with a grenade in order to cripple myself. I know I didn't do everything cause I didn't search a lot of the North East chunk of the map.. but honestly, I was hoping they'd force you to do all those side quests as part of the main quests.. the game sorta ended unexpectedly on me.. I only did the final quest cause I thought there would be more.. Update » neoform wrote on Mon Nov 3, 2008 @ 1:56pm For those not wanting the game to end the way it did for me, note, final quest is the one where the huge robot "Liberty Prime" is released, and boy does he ever unleash liberty on those communist bastards. hahahaha.

The x360 version has some MAJOR quest bugs. :(
i.e. If you don't do some of the main quests (as early as "Following in his Footsteps") in a PRECISE way, those quests can never be finished. Fortunately, I found the Dad through sheer randomness.

yeah, aparently there are some "bugs" in that people in megaton can fall off the ledges and die, making quests un-finishable, and also die from rad poisoning from walking close to the bomb too much..

Fable 2 had a patch with over 65,000 bugs fixed like 3-4 days after release, and there are still a ton..

insane
after 5 years in working in a video game compagny, im still super insulted to see and hear that games are sell with a ton of bugs in it come on, is it too hard to ask for some quality when you pay your video game 60 fucking bucks? it pissed me off. je suis une personne perfectionniste, et ça m'insulte ben raide de voir des compagnies mettre autan d'argent et de temps dans un jeu qui vont sortir rempli de bug

Yeah, I have both Nathan and Jericho die in my game. Thankfully, I'm doing a Very Good run, so I couldn't hire Jericho as Ally anyway... :S My friend at work had the old water supply guy die on him. Sucks. I hope they patch it very soon. I'm screwed with my main quests so I'm going to be finishing this one asap and start an evil build...

I'm an angel.
This game is pretty bad ass. I just always get the impression that I should be doing something else, or that I've missed out on something crucial! It's torture!
