So i've been buying nintendos compulsively in yard sales for the past couple years. I didn't know why exactly I was buying them. Probably cuz I never had one as a kid. Anyways, I originally thought I could buy enough to build a robot out of em, or to just replace the 72 pin connectors on em and make a few bucks... but I need to clear up some space and I also need some awesome deco so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make some eye candy out of em?
I'm feeling lonely right now..

eh, their getting expensive btw, dont do anything stupid like make an aquarium out of them,

retail is minimum 30$ each. + charge shipping, please dont destroy these neat antiquities

if i were you, i would make an array/ ie juke box where u can swap console anytime during game,

and i can program roms, so , there , infinite gaming.

if your an emulator addict even better, their sound chips are also discontinued and are cray stuff

the encoding start at 0 hz remember that.

the 12v power adaptor are also jack-of-all-trades, you can power anything almost at 12v 1.3A

my suggestion : get a nes sound tracker , a rom chip writer and a soldering iron,

your next demotape could be on a nes cartidge and you could give the nes to the label owner.

yeah dont worry. Any decoration ideas cannot involve damaging any of them. I was thinking maybe doing huge pixel art with em. Like a NES is a white/yellow pixel and whatever color background I use where theres no NES is another pixel... I wish I had more :(

to complete the project i also have ataris, a sega powerstation, a sega genesis, a super nes, a turbographx 16 and dozens of cartridges, controllers and accessories for each of those consoles. I also have a lifesize statue of the michelin man I can use...

"thou shall fetched bawl cancer if ye ripped foe's game box"

you know the port under is a modem port rite (well extensio too it actually its not there) but its a data port , you can link them all , and do the circuit tap from there

ie Teleplay MODEM - A MODEM that enabled head to head play with other consoles (including the Sega Genesis). (Baton) [ en.wikipedia.org ]

not a lot of people own 8 bit sdk communication libraries , and even less ones that are compatible with current machines, but either work from the port of mod 8 cartridge to link em from a port of your computer , you could drive the whole array with the raw NOISE register CIRCLE SQUARE TRIANGLE as well, if you have a an 8 mono line mixer with the rca, you could have the trippiest sound card on the block. you could also merge ALL the video line with an other mixer, and get 8bits shadow appears and all.

ever tought about getting projectors ? or analog to digital and make a led array, and have game demo run all day replacing you 100w light bulb system ?

do you know about zophar's lab ? [ www.zophar.net ]

im a packrat and a gadget afficionado, what you're saying is way out of my league. I have a bunch of crap you might like to fuck around with tho.

But props on the famicom modem tip. I always find it's a shame when good technologies come out and it's way too advanced for the consumer market but then it comes out 10+ years later it's suddenly hot shit.

Touch screens? Come on...

i dont think it would be out of your league, if you knew that you would like to do.

i know the assembly shit is hardcore, but video merge, and rom copy is a good start.

and once you know rom copy, straight bus tap comes even more easy.

picture your grid into your nes powered up,

and you use it as your guitar stings....

just ON sound and you fuck with the memory grid. you would forget the wall' painted in an instant

i like to have nutz and jotz constructive sessions, and am motivated technology enthusiasts, there is just not enough going out there , making it "seems" its unattainable.
