technically, a Freudian slip would involve some kind of sexual reference, i think.
But def. a slip! Though way more accurate than when he kept saying "my friends" during the debate last night.
A Freudian slip is not limited to a slip of the tongue, or to sexual desires. It can extend to our word perception where we might read a word incorrectly because of our fixations. It is important to note that these slips are semi-conscious. This is to say that these thoughts are consciously repressed and then unconsciously released.

that's not why they tell you not to use it, it's because it's not 'fixed', if you use it as a direct quotation it could change next week or next month, it's revisable, unlike a publication like 'the new yorker' or 'harpers' which once they have been printed don't change, all things considered wiki is pretty accurate for strait up facts like 'the population of mexico in 1995 was X'
