any person with education and good sens would say she's ignorant!

joe biden is clearly the winner in that debate.

she was a bitch. he was a gentleman.

she didn't answer ANY questions, she's a bad listener & a very bad debater and was talking like a pageant.

he had substance and knew what he was talking about.

she was talking ideology. he was bringing up numbers and facts.

And yet she still exceeded my expectations of her...I was hoping for a massacre. She might have lost, but I was expecting her to get slaughtered. So in that sense, she did well.

4 things they should have asked her, taken from [ wired.com ]

1. In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, Palin advocated the teaching of both evolution and creationism in public schools."Teach both," she said. "You know, don't be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both." Does she still believe creationism should be taught to our children as a debate-worthy alternative to science?

2. In 1996 when she was the Mayor of the Alaskan town of Wasilla, Palin asked the town librarian whether she had the power to ban certain books. Does this suggest a McCain/Palin administration would try to remove "objectionable" material from libraries around the country? What about the internet?

3. John McCain recently voiced his support for federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. But Palin opposes such funding. What positions will she take as vice president when the issue comes up for debate and legislative action in Congress? How would she vote as president of the Senate, if there were a tie-breaking vote on the issue in the chamber?

4. When the Interior Department put polar bears on the endangered species list, Palin sued to try and get them taken off. Palin claimed that polar bear populations are on the rise -- despite scientific evidence to the contrary. What does this say about the weight she would give to scientific evidence in setting federal policy?

Look, Im not saying I like her. I just don't think what ur doing is very nice. Its almost like ur saying that people who arent as well versed in topics like foriegn policy or the economy as others, should be made fun of. Why shouldn't they be allowed to he nominated for VP? And why shouldnt they be opportunisitic and accept a great opportunity when it knocks at their door?

I don't understand why you're angry at her; did she nominate herself to be a VP candidate? No. Is she well versed in energy policies, small government, lobbying, budget cutting, social and cultural values, and local politics? Yes, because she's the govennor of Alaska and thats her job. She understands the issues that make her a good governor. You dont get an 88% approval rating by being a shitty leader.

Second, John McCain didn't pick her to be VP because of her depth of experience in foreign policy, or economic policy or immigration policy. He can articulate his views on those subjects pretty well. He picked her to help cut the budget, fight congressmen who want more spending, and act as an agent for conservative, southern, mid-west, rural and middle-class america. Don't these people deserve a voice in Washington? Or is american politics only for the ivey-league educated and the rich?

fuck. are you serious? i don't care to not be nice. that's not the question here. is that bitch gonna be nice when me & mah sisters will not have choice anymore?

Its almost like ur saying that people who arent as well versed in topics like foriegn policy or the economy as others, should be made fun of.

well YES i think that someone who accept the nomination of a major party should be made fun of if they know nothing about foreign policy or economy. again: are you for fucking real!?????
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU EXIST.

Why shouldn't they be allowed to he nominated for VP? And why shouldnt they be opportunisitic and accept a great opportunity when it knocks at their door?

because some people are honest and patriotic enough, they would decline an offer when they realised that obviously they are not at that level. or made for the job. you know not everybody is an asshole.

Is she well versed in energy policies, small government, lobbying, budget cutting, social and cultural values, and local politics?

no. not at all. and someone who think so is plain dumb or uneducated.

i stop there because really it gets too much of my time.. i mean not my fault if you're totally lost and you have shitty politic opinions.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE AS DANGEROUS AS THAT WOMAN AND HER POLICIES!

First, this is a rave website and ur not being very PLUR...so yeah

Second, Im just pointing out that McCain picked a VP who filled the gaps in his own resume. The guy isnt good with right leaning republicans, the religious right, conservatives or with middle-class Americans. So might as well pick a VP who is...

Third, perhaps when she has more time to learn about foriegn and economic policy, she'll become better at them. Perhaps shes a born leader, who's just needs more time to be briefed on the subjects...I think its pretty patriotic to have a career in public service. And if a man like John McCain thinks you have what it takes to be a VP, you run for VP. Even thought its potentially political suicide, shes running. Thats pretty patriotic.

Fourth,

a) She wants off-shore drilling to increase the supply of, and thus decrease the market price paid for, oil and natural gas until the costs of deploying alternative energy infrastructure decrease. Sounds pretty logical to me.

b) Do her view on abortion and gay marriage resonate with many in the NE, mid-west and southern states? yep.

c) Did she help cut pork off the Alaskan budget? yep. Was she an expert at getting Alaskans pork from the federal government? yep

d) does she understand local alaskan politics? She must have cuz she gotz an 88% rating

Id also like to add that Obama has this election wrapped up. Its over. He won. So relax.

I'm 100% behind Betty Haze, she performed terribly. Biden showed how strong he was and she looked like a timid fool who was way out of her league. She tried her folksy soccer mom crap and it bombed. She's running for Vice President of the most powerful country in the world, yet she knows nothing about the world outside of her home state.

What a fucking disgrace.

On a side note, did anyone notice the Canadian Debates were going on at the same time on CBC..?

[ yeah...ca ] debates are geih. I can't believe Harper is going to win a possible majority. If Layton wasn't such a fucking lame ass, Dion would have it all wrapped up :(

Im actually in awe that Canadians can be so dumb. We have a golden opportunity to start cutting emissions early (its less painful to start early than to start late), use the market to create a hell of an presence in the alternative energy industry (which will be full of great paying jobs and equal lots more money for everyone), and lay the foundations of an incredibly strong society by targeting the obvious constraints that poverty brings to a child's skill and ability acquiring process. In addition Harpers cutting funding for arts, which should be a strong point of Canada; Multi-culturism = a shit load of creativity, money, industry in jobs by fusion-izing cultures to make new products. And we're pissing that way too...

its a fucking embarrassment. I <3 dion. If only he could speak English better...

I dunno why you have to be so mean. I was just pointing out that u were being really hurtful to Palin, and that if she was ever to read what you wrote, it would make her really disheartened. And you started being mean to me, and it kinda made me sad, and now i can't sleep. I dunno why you dislike me so much...you haven't even met me. i think you really would like me if you did. You're a fucking idiot Gamos.

And that's probably why you like Palin.
You identify with her lack of knowledge. And you're doing the same fucking Palin's trick, when cornered, you act all innocent and "Im just a boy. Lil old me."

You're supporting or defending a person who is the nominee for the VICE-PRESIDENT of the MOST powerful NATION in the world. As powerful militarily as the next 20 nations combined.

A person with no knowledge of World Affairs: The Ayatollahs rule Iran, not necessarily their President. A person who doesn't believe in Scientific Facts if it goes against their world views. A person who doesn't know anything about Economics: Drill more!

Picking a candidate for votes doesn't mean she is qualify for the job, not matter how
many great advisors you have. Cheney and Rumsfeld didn't listen to the military generals
and Powell, and look the mess the USA is in.

Why don't they picked someone who is ALREADY versed in Foreign policies and Economic issues.
Thus they don't waste time giving crash courses, and actually working on policies.

She isn't a born leader. A mayor of a town of 8 000 people doesn't give you the skills to lead a nation state, nor does being Alaska's governor, a State that gets 71% per-capita more than the nation average from Federal spending. Anyone can be a good governor if your working civilian population is only 350 000 and your revenue largely depends on Federal grants and Oil companies. Alaska who gets the most pork barreled money.

It's like very easy mode.

A) New off-shore drilling, or drilling in Federals lands will take a DECADE before it's implemented
and the black gold start flowing.

MORE DRILLING will NOT INCREASE MORE SUPPLY BECAUSE THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS ALWAYS INCREASING. DEMAND OUTPACING SUPPLY DUH.

Thus the price will not be lowered as supplies will diminished in other areas. Sand oil and Shale oil cost about what 60-80$ a barrel to extract. So when the light crude oil runs dry in the major oil field of Middle-East, we're going to see more than 120$ a barrel.

B) About abortion, the Americans are letting the views and morality of rural and small town America, which are small compared to coastal and urban population, dictated laws. That's democracy.

C) She initially supported the Bridge to Nowhere, and when other went against it, she changed mind. She doesn't lead, she follows. Is she stopping the highway to Anchorage?

D) You would approve too if you don't pay Sales Taxes and she's given you 1 200.00$ cheque, that is added to the 2 000.00$ every Alaskans get per year. Granted, she fought for Windfall tax, taxes on oil company. But exactly for what? So you can thank/bribe the citizens for voting for you? She certainly isn't doing it to curb oil demands or to re-invested it or to help the environment.
