hmmm never even thought of it but i wouldnt try it, personally. I remember reading about how hardcore-jungle guys in the early 90s would break open their decks and make the pitch + and - 20 or something like that. obviously makes it much harder to pinpoint the beatmatch, and you also run the risk or permanently fucking up the calibration. i am happy with mine the way they are .. though a reverse switch might be cool

the pitch mod is pretty easy to do... and I had mine set up like that for a long time, but it became frustrating that mixes I pulled off at home were impossible when I played out (unless I did the mod on every set of decks I was to be playing on)... at any rate, modifications to the pitch and braking mechanisms are as simple as knowing which screw to turn.

I've currently got my decks pitched so that they're a little bit less than +/- 8%... which gives me a bit less room to play with, but makes them a bit more precise. In any case, it's worth knowing how to do the pitch mod - if only so that you can calibrate your decks and match them.
I'm feeling new records right now..
