and so out thoughts were confirmed ladies and gentlemen

Alice In Chains are set to record a new album this year, their first in 13 years.

The sessions will also be the band's first since frontman Layne Staley suffered a fatal drug overdose in 2002.

The band, joined by their new singer William DuVall, will head into the studio in the autumn.

Writing on the band's website, band associate Baldy said: "October will arrive and Alice In Chains will reconvene to record the new album.

"So, as 2008, winds down, band activity will be gearing up, and at some point in 2009 you'll finally hear what I've been raving about for the last several months."

The band's previous, self-titled, album was released in 1995.

No offense but 90s industrial was probably the most wanker infested genre of the 90s,

Its bad music that'll just bring you down,

Trust me on that one,

Negative music breeds negative thoughts,

Life's too short to be listening to that stuff :)
I'm feeling bass heavy right now..

i was heavily into the grunge thing when i was 16...
seeing nirvana live remains in my head as the best live show i've ever witnessed.
kurt killed himself within' a month after.
as far as industrial...
i can only half agree with bliss...
because 90% of it was complete shite.
but there were still a lot of very influential artists and sounds that came up from it.
like c'mon... guys like ministy, skinny puppy, and kmfdm took sampling to whole new levels.
I'm feeling republican right now..

Good point,

But now we're talking about real industrial, not poser mtv crap like NIN

I'm actually a huge fan of Ministry and Meat Beat Manifesto,

Another industrial band that really influenced me was a group called Front 242,
Check out their Front By Front album, its the one of the best Industrial/EBM record ever made.

Head Like A Hole was a dope track,

Closer always gets girls on the dancefloor and is a sexy track no doubt,

But his later shit is caca,

He gets way more credit then he deserves

Right up untill The Fragile.. As soon as Trent got off the junk and sat down infront of a piano, NIN tuned to so much crap.. At least their old stuff, despite having a fair bit of "boo hoo my girlfriend dumped me, I'm so depressed" lyrics, he still had an angry/aggresive edge... Now he just sounds like a whiny, depressed teenager.

i gotta agree...
as brilliant as his last few albums might have been considered by music nerds and studio heads...
trents last few releases are pretty unplayable.
no disrespect though...
he just got old and old ppl tend to reach a point were they stop churning out the bangers and making more "intelligent" music....
for other old ppl i guess????
but hands down...
the guy is genius musically.

My original comment was aimed precisely at guys like Manson

I've always hated that guy,

I used to have this goth kid who'd come to my nights at Passeport who was trying to be exactly like him,

Makeup, clothes, attitude, etc...

He was so fucking annoying,

He'd only dance to that one "Beautiful People" song,

The rest of the night he'd just lurk beside the dj booth creeping me out,

So not only do I hate the music, I also hate the fans ;)

and i guess your one of them !
