If there's no organism around with an ear to hear it, then all it does is make vibrations.. But seeing as how most forests are populated with squirrels, birds and other cute furry things, then they're around to hear the sound, so I'd say that, 99% of the time, yes a tree does make a sound if it falls in the woods. |

SPAM THE PLANET !! __ okay, here's a point-form review of his mix (to back-up my example given) heeh.. :P Link to mix : ---------> [ www.rave.ca ] - your opening mix died on you and the attempt to add effects to save it wasn't the most tasteful.. - constant use of fx is overly used. - Eqing durring mixes is a little sketchy (your increase in mid + high's hurts the ears) - so far, no real beat to beat mixes, only 4 bar mixes that turn into breakdown mixing - Very groovy track selection that keeps my foot stomping (and so far, not as vocal as i expected) - first attempt to beatmatch (at around 7:30 into mix) lead to a slight off-beat (good think for that breakdown huh?) - more Fx's to cover bad mixing at 13mins into mix. - shuve that fucken flanger up your ass around 15:45, to cover a mix again. at 15 minutes into your mix, i get the feeling that you are agressivly shoving tracks into this mix. 17 minutes into the mix, i really love this track, sounds like Extrawelt :) too bad you ruin it with your damn effects and 4 second mix. - at 20:12 into the mix, we have pleasure to the longest beat-to-beat mix so far, a whopping 15 second mix that kick-muted every third kick until the fading track died and the in-coming track "brokedown".. - 22:25, we get an uncontrolled trainwreck followed by yourself once again "forcing" the next track into your "mix".. (i was waiting for the flanger on this one) - ahh, there it is... the flanger is back. - BTW, that filter you keep using really hurts the ears even if it muffs the bass. - 25 mins, sick, SICK track here. me likes - once again, my ears got rapped by you passing the "0" range on your high knob. you should really be careful with that bro. - 27.19, off-beat and bad transition. - 31:00: random throw-in of a new track, off structure, durring a rise... can you say, etch-a-sketch ? - 32:40 - seems like, umm, different that what we are used to, i think its called a mix.. oops, sorry, that was just the track.. - 34:10 : longest beatmatch to date and smoothest transition so far. - 37:40 : cool, two back to back "half mixes".. first time this mix.. -40:05 : more ear-destroying effects followed by a new tune pasted at the end of the ending track, followed by more intensly high freq's. 43 mins : mix has now been turned off as there is no point in going on. all transitions are remotly done the same way, using abusive flangering to cover for tracks ending before expected. basically, after 10 years of playing at clubs weekly as stated by this guy in other threads it seems like this is his second demo mix. i can't even believe that this mix was put up publicly as it will definatly trash his reputation as a dj. This also completes my statement made in that same thread regarding Dj's that mix alot doesn't = talent. sorry bro, maybe you are used to playing your weekly's at clubs made for def people (which mean's you must be active behind the decks to keep there eye's on you).. i do like your track selection as it wasn't bad at all and the progression of the mix is in order, but please don't flaut that you know how to mix (statement made on this mix, and this mix alone) if that is the way you perform in public. at a club, i would have left after your third transition (given up on the word mix or beatmatch for the sake of honesty towards this mix) .. |
