if you just want to drop it village des valeurs or salvation army is the most easy if you have a car.
one day i dropped a bag full of old clothes and stuff on the sidewalk and wrote "for free" on the ciment and 30 minutes later it was almost gone.. i was looking from my window and it was funny to see different kind of peeps stopping by. i see it often in the city and country people do it too.. you should try. a lots of stuff we have and don't like could make someone happy and vice versa. last month i got like that a super 1960 lamp which look amazing now in my house. Update » Holly_Golightly wrote on Sun Jul 27, 2008 @ 2:34pm ps: but it's very great that you just don't throw it for the garbage center! :)

Even though i shop at village des valeurs and
le friperie and find great stuff when i have stuff 2 give i give it to places like le chainon, the salavation army or sunyouth because they are non-profit organisations as opposed to V.D.V AND friperie who make a fine buiseness out of peoples donations.

dont people pay at the Salvation Army store?
I know there's one on Sherbrooke in NDG. I like the Church charities (yes even from a hardline antiteist). There is one that comes here, to the apartment and picks up, but i don't know the name. I rather they give instead of reselling it, even it's just for 5$ for a shirt that use to cost me 50$. |

There's also a battered Women's shelter on Maissoneuve near Pierce, they take clothing
because a lot of those Women have kids etc...forgot the name but get off @ Guy and walk West on Maissoneuve, there's a big cartoon picture of Gilda Radner on the side of the House (which is Red), I'm sure they would appreciate it. |
