Mayday - You may want to go through the steaming pile of drama on these boards to understand the reason why some chose to use such language. While it doesnt excuse the use of such language, I believe some if not most are looking for a reaction from blisss.

Let's just say he has difficulty understanding subtle humour such as irony, satire and sarcasm which has led to this whole "No, you're the racist!" debacle.

I can think of a large number of people, including some very close to me, who would disagree.

But fine, carry on.

Meh this whole story started from a clip from Chapelle's show... I still dont get how some people fail to find him funny and actually take offense to his sketches.

And for the record, I find these toys hilarious, inapropriate maybe, but I find them hilarious nonetheless. Especially when you look back at how completely shameless people could be in a not so distant past.

yeah, as bad as it is to admit, this thread (and all of the inflamatory remarks) are, more than anything, the result of the recent shitstorm started by Bliss, and are pretty certainly an attempt at baiting him into looking like even more of an idiot on the board..

He's pretty much pulling the shit he was doing at MTLDnB all over again; making fake accounts pretending their his friends, starting shit with everyone, having his holier-than-thou-art-because-I-practically-invented-the-whole-breakbeat-scene attitude.. You know, how he was on mtldnb, basically.

Why is it ok for a black person to be racist, but not ok for a white person?

I've been called cracker and honkey before, but never called anyone a nigger. I don't see much outrage over much of what's said in modern rap..

Clean your room before you tell others to clean theirs.

in principle i agree with your point...

you do have to remember that there is some serious history to contend with, black people didn't enslave white people for almost 400 years in the americas...so if they get a pass on the racism thing it's bad but, well maybe it should be that way.

What makes the great grand kids of slaves deserving of special attention like that?

They didn't get mistreated.. why do they deserve special treatment? Basically what you're saying is they deserve special attention cause they're black. That's racism.

what about all the wealth that would have been accumulated if slaves had been paid for their labor, what about all the wealth that was accumulated from not paying the slaves? If the equal rights amendment ever passes (it probobly won't ever happen) then the US government essentially owes the descendents of slaves all that back pay +interest. That would probobly be more than 100 billion dollars.

Nothing like watching a bunch of overprivileged white kids who never experienced real racism in their life talking about how they have the right to say 'nigger' all they want, cause they saw the chappelle show.

I think that racism is racism, like a whip or a gun changing hand does not stops being a weapon. A poor kid should not be treated differently depending if his skin is white, black, green or whatever, to do otherwise is plain racism and should be treated as such. Discrimination is never positive in anyway, do anyone believe that the person not getting a job because of a "positive" discrimination is not going to be resentful if someone get a job he was more qualified to have because their great-great-great-great-grand father were treated unfairly. It is also very sad because the people who are qualified and get the job, will be seen as having obtained their job because of discrimination and will be seen as being less competent than they really are, in the end only the people who got their job because of the discrimination and not of their skills will benefit from that racism everyone else loses.

I believe that judging people by their "races" is misguided, every day people who have the potential to become geniuses are born in every countries and in every ethnicities, how they are raised and schooled makes a lot more differences on what kind of people they will become than the colours of their skin.

This is almost as bad as saying that someone cannot be homophobic because they are a woman...in my opinion it just does not makes any sense,, but someone told me that on this board...)

Unfair discrimination will always be bad and bring more hatred

On a related subject what are the opinion of the people on this board on what happened in Zimbabwe ( I am talking about the confiscation of the white owned land by the government of Robert Mugabe. There are different ways to stop injustice, Mandela did it in South Africa, he stopped discrimination and brought peace to his country, Mugabe decided to use his own kind of racism and almost destroyed Zimbabwe by himself.

RACISM IS NEVER GOOD

A good portion of the slaves that went to the US (and even other parts of the world) were sent from Africa to the Bahamas. While in the Bahamas, they walked across a part of the Island barefoot and in chains, where they were then put on other ships which took them to the US.

My best friend is from the Bahamas (and yes, he's black), and a few years ago, his father and him did that walk together. Though he tried to articulate what that was like to me and did he best to do so, there is no way myself, or any of you posting this garbage can possibly comprehend what that was like for him, let alone his ancestors.

Likewise, none of us can comprehend the use of that word in the derogatory manner in which you seem to use it so freely within this thread (not to mention the word Coon. Jesus Christ). I don't give a shit if someone called you a honkey or a fucking white boy or whatever. It is NOT the same. It doesn't make it okay for them to say that, but that is NOT the same shit.

Furthermore, the fact that you guys are using fucking BLISS, of all people, as an excuse to say the things you are saying is fucking sad.

And don't bring some shit about Dave Chappelle into this. I'm not saying he wasn't funny, he was very funny. But as far as I recall, homeboy took a trip to Africa which changed his whole fucking perspective on all the shit he thought was pretty fucking funny before hand. I seem to remember him stopping his whole show as a result of it actually.

Regardless of my own thoughts on his choice of words he used in his humor, the manner in which he applied those words to his humor and the manner in which you guys are using these words aren't even in the same fucking ballpark and the fact that you even equate those two things as a means to justify you actions is really fucking pathetic, and I think you all know better than that.

And for the record, I know a lot of Black people who don't approve of the use of that word at all and think it is pretty disgusting, whether that be in hip hop, comedy or whatever.

Most importantly, you guys talk real tough while on a message board filled with white kids, hiding behind your user names in you safe little apartments, but I am fucking 100% POSITVE the minute you are in front of a black person you shut the fuck up and the thought of even saying something like that in from of them would probably make you piss your shitty little raver fat pants.

Learn some manners and grow the fuck up.

Christ.

That said I do agree that some words are used a little too carelessly on this board ( I am not saying that these words should never be used, but like anything else people should always think of the effect their words and actions can have on other people). I believe that pretty much everything that divides is bad, may it be religion or racism.

There should not be a US and THEM, only a US that includes both

Even if you have very valid points Mayday, your attitude and the way you antagonize the rest of the people on this board with your holier than you attitude does them disservice.

And if I was black? Quite the irony that you would highlight my skin color to bring about your own racism. Why would my skin color make any difference here?

I actually agree with you Mayday but I just wish you were around to read what started this shitstorm.

I was gonna write some longass post and link a whole bunch of old threads... but I said fuck it. What I do know is that Mico most likely started this thread to provoke blisss and in this case, after seeing the result, I dont believe the ends justify the means.

I did giggle at the ignorance people displayed by making these toys though. If that offended you then I'm sorry. And for the record, you can go ahead and dig to see but I dont throw the N bomb around, I have quoted it here and there from shit like Wu-Tang tracks or comedy clips, be it Chapelle or whoever but that's it.
