oh my fucking gosh! that was one magical fucking night, no questions asked!

millimetrik was nice... pretty relaxing, nice way to start out the evening really

went to the second room to see the setup and all and caught a bit of dave aju's set, that guy was fucking into it. He played some nice tracks and the setup in the room was really nice... cool minimalistic visuals

Kid koala made me shit my pants (like everytime i see him)! moon river was off the fucking hook... Kid koala is a better dj than you! he just is so get used to it!

Megasoid was a nice surprise... some intresting ideas in there, cool mashups, but for some reason I think the sound in the room was not up to par until modeselektor starter (dunno if its due to production quality, the room filling up or a deliberate act by the organisation but there was definatly a big shift in sound quality)... the visuals were really cool too

Modeselektor... wow... they played everything i hoped they would play but was sure they wouldnt... the vibe inside the place was amazing, the visuals and lighting compeletly nutz (photos or videos are must-see!) just... fucking wow! at this point the sound was fucking great (the bass at the end of let your love grow almost made me puke... and I like that)
I'm feeling sinus right now..

hehe, I like your review Rawali, because it sort of reminds me of my experience on Thursday.

This was my first Mutek and I was really impressed --except I went to Nocturne 2. The visuals were excellent, and the sound was just perfect. When I first walked in at around 12:30am, this Cristian Vogel was playing some really glitchy, experimental shit with not much rhythm. The music was good for what it was, but the whole time this guys set was going, everyone was sort of standing around talking, and bobbing their heads.

But then... Sleeparchive came on, and this fucking tore the fucking roof off. His set went on for about 2hours (which felt like 5-minutes), but my god, the room went from boring, to completely insane in just a few minutes. Everyone was dancing so fucking hard, it was like this guy had us tied up like marionettes and was just pulling us around to his sound. From start to finish, his set was impeccable, immaculate, so disgustingly perfect he had me holding my head in disbelief repeating the word "wow" over, and over again.

Mind you, I was really drunk, and I don't remember how I got home... But I do remember having an incredible time. MUTEK fucking rocks.
I'm feeling cool right now..

I thought Megasoid was terribly boring... this instrumental + that acappella + chaos pad...

Modeselektor was solid, but I enjoyed their set in 2006 a lot more... might have had something to do with the differences between shows at the SAT and shows at Metropolis...

KnifehandChop was a nice end to the night... "all over your face" - awesome to finally hear that one on a massive system.

It's just that people have been doing that sort of thing for well over a decade... and it really didn't seem to be adding anything new to the style... in fact, it sounded a lot like Attitude [ www.discogs.com ] , with weaker source tracks.
