| platter and plate? you mean on the cdj 800 they are not stuck with eachother? i have to try this, never used a 800 outside a rave, so i didnt have time to really see what are the posibilities! |

| well, they are together, but it works diffrent depending on what you do.. Specifically, if you push down on it (like if you were scratching or cueing a record) it's gonna manipluate the track like you were scratching/cueing (and it actually IS good enough to scratch with!), but if you don't push down on it and just use the outer rim to spin the platter, it nudges the track up/down like a jog-wheel (but WAY more precise than the 100/200/400 jog)
there's a knob on it that has a diagram sort of like the curve of a fader, and that adjusts how much pressure it takes to trigger it "holding" the track like if you were touching a record, so if you touch the platter and it stops, it's just set too sensitive. |

| Bleh.. i've had mine for over 3 years now and i would NEVER use the vinyl mode... NEVER.. even with the sensitivity adjustement (which BTW just adjusts the speed that the track starts up when you let go of the platter, not actually the sensitivity of the jog-wheel) .. :p
unless i'm that ignorant .. hehe.. which is always an option !! |
