CONTEST THOSE BASTARDS

isn't it enough that when there is a bus lane they decide to go into traffic, or when the poster in the bus says it isn't our fault that the buses are late ( then who is it?) who is driving the buses?
isn't it enough that we wait 2 hours for a bus in the winter!!!! CONTEST.......
I'm feeling in debt right now..

Buy a scooter so you don't have to take the metro anymore ;)... I'd contest it, you have nothing to loose really and most ppl prolly don't contest so it's a good start.
I'm feeling whatever right now..

If you loose, you have to pay court fees, probably around 50$, as well as your ticket.
I would definatly lodge a complaint agains the teller, it's his fault, after all.
I'm feeling 80 hz right now..

an undercover metro cops convieniently located beside an un-manned teller...
totally reeks of entrapment.

I haven't read any posts, so this will sound might really stupid...

(...And I hope this hasn't already been discussed...)
But just out of curiosity, did you jump one of the new baracades, or was it one of the old turnstiles?
Because, if the teller isn't there, the turnstile is usually open for us to pass through. So I'm asking myself if they've changed their policy with the new barriers, keeping them closed, forcing you to wait (if you have to pay with change, etc) while the operator is gone?
I'm feeling cool right now..

Mico: I jumped a new bracade. If it had been the turnstile I would have tried to just walk straight though. Also , I was pretty much able to step over the barrier, because its quite low in the middle. With all these new signs saying that cards are replacing tickets, Im pretty sure they a phasing out the attendants right now and they will all be replaced with a machine pretty soon. Thats what most other cities have.

I decided to contest, and even though Im not feeling that confident about the whole thing, I figure its my responsibility to stand up and say something. I spoke with an employee of the STM and they told me that if I go to court and I don't win, its likely that they will reduce the fine. They also told me that there is an STM rule for attendants that if they are not in the booth, then they have to open the gate. I'll let you guys know what happens. and thanks for the advice/comments, etc....

I'd be willing to bet that the STM cop won't even bother to show up.

He's got a case so weak he'll save himself the embarrasment.
I'm feeling loco right now..
