I'm pretty sure its a Shelby GT 500 Mustang, isnt it? Thats what it looked like. Also, i'm pretty sure it wont last a full season, given how bad the pilot was.
I'm feeling booooored right now..

I dunno, that pilot could have been a hell of a lot worse than it was. I was really surprised at how much better it came out than I was expecting, and I'd totally love to see a full show of it.

But why a fucking Mustang ? At least the Firebird in the original series looked kinda sporty-ish. And aerodynamic. It actually LOOKED like it could go fast. No, they had to find the least aerodynamic car around.

You need a pretty good turbo boost to make this blunt object go fast.

Yeah, that's why mustangs have always been one of the top choices for drag-racing and street racing since their inception..

Still, the original version was less " americanized " than the current one. I love big cars as much as the next guy but hey, if you wanna go american, at the very least use, I dunno, a Pontiac Solstice or something. Something that LOOKS a lot slicker. I hate it that they had to drop a bucketful of testosterone on the new iteration.

It just looks as subtle as a yellow Hummer with 26 fog lights on it.

The "slick" look of the eighties has become some sort of a joke and Firebirds are for rednecks (in the USA). My guess is, they wanted something American that could STILL work in movies like Fast and Furious.

The "slick" look of the 80s has become some sort of a joke ? Where exactly ?

If we were to have the new KITT as a Lamborghini Diablo, I don't think ANYONE will complain or find it "too slick".

I just find that EVERYFUCKINGTHING the americans have to do needs to be ridiculously over-the-top, exhuberant and ginormous.

To this day, they are STILL trying to prove they've got balls. We KNOW, stop trying to make everything so damn oversize.

Most american products have ZERO subtility.

I know it's not american, what's your point ? All I'm saying is, why not use a sports car instead of a muscle car ? KITT wasn't about brute force in the 80s.

Btw, I was born in the 70s and wasn't in diapers in the 80s and I can assure you that the 80s way back in the 80s wasn't a joke. It may looks funny to you NOW but no one thought wearing neon pink back then was goofy-looking.

Also, KITT in the 80s made all of us salivate like mad. There was nothing on the american market that looked remotely sporty as the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am when it was released in 82. EVERYONE wanted one and not just because of the show.

That's why I'm saying that GM should've AT LEAST took ANYTHING that looks like a sports car in their gazillion models they offer on the market today.

Yesterday's KITT was to prove to the american market that GM could produce SOMETHING else than muscle cars. And it worked. Today's KITT just looks like a feeble and failed attempt by GM to get people to prefer purchasing a " cool KITT looking " gas guzzling car as opposed to any much better and slicker hybrid cars out there.

Also, the original KITT *LOOKED* to us like a futuristic car. Hell, KITT even stands for "Knight Industries Two Thousand" (remember, it was the 80s).

Today's KITT looks like something from 30 years BACK. You'll have a hard time telling me (and anyone who grew up on Knight Rider) that a fucking Ford Mustang is a technologically advanced marvel.

Well, you've hit it right on the button here. Today's Knight Rider is nothing short of a commercial for American cars. Like most of all American movies...
