Apex IKS-8
70$ @ Italmelodie, ask for me for a cheap-ass discount. Its basically foldable table legs. You only need a wooden tabletop. It was made for DJ rigs. |

the rotating CD will try to go horizontal inside the machine, and gravity+vibrations from the music can nudge it and then pow.
ever seen a CD lose balance inside a player? quite a spectacular firework of plastic bits, very very dangerous. |

err... i don't know what you're talking about, CDs are firmly held on the spinning part in the middle, and lots of hifi systems have vertical CDs... ever used a discman ? ever tried to put it in any direction ? i guess that if you've seen a CD lose its balance inside a player, then the central spinning bit was kinda worn out.
i don't see why the rotating CD would try to go horizontal...? like a helicopter against gravity ? heh :) moreover cdj stands are often oblique, which would probably already be known to cause problems if this was the case.

pioneer makes there own racks angled.
as stated in the manual... most tabletop cdj's can be "mounted on any angle", they are built for it. if you want to get an idea of the kinda angles these things can endure... peep out this vid. [ www.youtube.com ] i opened for this guy a few years ago and he pulls this at every show and has yet to encounter a problem. Update » MURDOCK_ROCK wrote on Sun Feb 10, 2008 @ 1:11pm and yeah...
i considered the sheet stands as well fred. really good idea... not sure if i'm gunna roll with it, cuz i'm not much of a welder and i fear that if i start screwing it into wood my ghetto craftsmanship might result in some sort of Frankenstein looking shit.

Meh, I've seen it happen a lot when I worked in repairs. Blown cd players are very common. But hey, go nuts and mount'em at any angle you wish, its not my gear :) |

So in others words if a CDJ were to blow it wouldn't be up to the owner to pay for the repairs but rather Pioneer for mentioning that they can be mounted in any angle in their own manual... interesting lol |

i have never seen a pioneer cdj broke for this reason
even cdj company sells their racks angle-adjustable... but the music sheet thing is that bomb if you need your stand to be on the floor, just reinforce the sheet holding part, maybe put it bigger if you got 2x cdj 8 or more id get 1*2 wood and cut it and screw it to do reinforcement for the top part, and another linking the back of the top part to the main pipe so there is no chance for the top part to flip over, but you would loose the angle ajustement. nice idea screwhead!

I made one out of wood. But its Flat and its for a laptop. I just got 2 L-shaped brackets($5) and a piece of wood with a laminate surface ($10). I found the studs in my wall through trial and error (i basically hit nails into the wall untill I found them)
If you wanted it to be on an angle, you might be able to find brackets that are at an angle, or you could buy some wood and cut it at an angle. If you go to a Home depot or Rona with some idea of what you will need, they will cut the wood for you for free. Obviously its not portable, and It'll kinda like the the one you posted from England. |
