I don't agree with people AT ALL that Trent's music gets shittier. I agree that With Teeth didn't sound so inspired but Year Zero has just as much inspiration behind it as anythign else he's done if you ask me. Each of his albums has their own unique sound and feel. Year Zero is more politically inspired while his other albums are more emotional. And why would we be expecting another downward spiral? Downward spiral is just as different as all the rest. Everything before Downward Spiral sounded as different as everything after. You ever heard two NIN albums with the same sound? He never tries to immitate his old sounds, just goes with his new inspirations. Saying he's losing his sound/style is really ignoring that he never assigned one to himself, that would be uninspired. But I mean considering that it's normal that not eveyone will like all his stuff.. I GUESS I mean I wouldn't know, it's all pretty perfect to me.

Some people told me Zero was far from being their best album. Can I tell them they're full of shit or... ?

So yeah they are full of shit. It's a tight album. Do not let With Teeth turn you off of Year Zero, they're not in the same league at all.

The Great Destroyer is probably my favourite song from YZ and also has a more emotional feel than the others, maybe captures a bit of the emotion some of you are looking for. Every other song is awesome and classic worthy too. The album is more politically themed, it's not an attempt to capture old and used inspiration but as I've said that's something I've never come to expect of NIN.

I haven't heard the remix album yet.

I dunno if I could ever chose a favourite album of NIN.

I love this answer!!!

YAY!! x 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000

...The only reason why the fragile remains my favorite is because of its meaning to me. :P
But, each album definitely has something to offer.

One thing that I love about Trent is the fact that he writes/produces/releases/etc things the way he wants to. I don't think after releasing the downward spiral his thoughts were to top it with something "better". To me, his attitude was always "Here's the new album. Like it or not." :D
I'm feeling lalalalala right now..

What I really wish Trent would have finnished is the project he was working on with Roger Waters. I'd read an interview with the two of them talking about how they were working on an album together and they wanted to tour together, but nothing ever ended up coming from that other than that interview.
I'm feeling fuckin' crazy right now..

Year zero is pretty good, it can't compete with the downward spiral, broken, or the best fragile songs but it is a good album and I like the return to the harder sound. With teeth was horrible besides a couple of tracks.
I'm feeling gangsta right now..

PHM = Killer
Broken = Killer
TDS = Killer
Fragile = 50% Killer, 50% suck
With Teeth = Toothless
Year Zero = Talent zero, all gone, bye bye.

Someting happened to Trent after TDS. He was my biggest influence for years. I had more respect for that guy than I had for myself. But now? He's lost it completely. It's the new pet shop boys, music for the heterosexually-challenged youth.
