Also, good luck finding, say, a new graphics card for THE WORLD'S THINNEST NOTEBOOK.
Enjoy your zero customization.

yeah it's got the option for a solid-state drive... Pretty much a chunk of flash memory.
Which has been done before already in the AUSU EEE PC.

neat little comparison...
personally i think the mac book air isn't really that ideal of a machine... but the technology behind is quite innovative nonetheless. i'd rather put my loot into a macbook pro if i was to spend that kinda money. saying that all products made by apple are a rip off is a bit of a stretch though...

well, considering that most apple products you can get the exact same thing for cheaper.. The only diffrence between an apple PC and a "regular" PC ever since the switch to Intel chips is the native operating system. You could get just as good of a regular PC (sans macOS) for a considerably smaller chunk of change.
And MP3 players.. There are a top of MP3 players that have just as much storage as the Ipod, for usually a noticable diffrence in price as well, AND you're not tied-down to iTunes for transfering music over, they're just drag and drop..

not to mention that the ipod radio tunner is non existent and apparently a record jack was not deemed necessary either... I have always and will always regard the ipod as a peice of shit, but thats my opinnion... and I`ve never been a fan of apple products, no just cause they look wankerish, or that the gooey platform interface is annoying as hell, but also because why pay 3k for something that in pc land would only set you back about 7bills.... for the look? I`d rather spend the extra cash on audio gear records, so wut do I know...

Yeah, but for a computer like this that's running on a slower CPU than the new macOS is built for is akin to running Vista on a slower processor. My dad recently got a new computer with a dual-core AMD of some sort, and with 3 gigs of ram and a good video card, Vista runs just as fast and looks just as good as any apple OS.
But scale down the machine's proccesing and graphic capabilities and throwing the same OS onto it is really pretty stupid. And really, any version of MacOS (and windows) is nothing in terms of how slick you can get Linux going with Compiz these days on a computer a fraction the speed of what's needed for MacOS and Vista. With a single core AthlonXP +2200 (1.8g speed), 1 gig of ram and a Radeon 9600 AIW I can run almost as smooth as this: Let's see MacOS do anything close to this on a single-core CPU with a 3 generation old graphic card...

for sure...
that ubuntu copiz thingie is pretty slick... a clear osx rip... but slick nontheless.... but it really depends on what your doing... we all know that for professionals doing sound and video the mac has not only become the industry standard, but is considered to be very cost effective. now that apple has got software exclusivity going with programs like final cut, logic and exclusive hardware agreements with company's like apogee... a musician can set up a rippin' fast mac with, legal software, sample banks and a sound card with some of the best DAC's in the buisness for under 3k. setting up a pro workstation has never been so cheap.
