awesome party.. very ghetto feel to it, which isnt bad; for some reason it feels very right for a hardcore party to be ghetto :)

notably I really liked IZ's set and in the upstairs room the set by dude from France, whoever that was. good job

the people were nice and chill and it wasnt cold at all, be it due to fixed heating or bodyheat...

hilarious shenenigans at the bathtub room...haha...pics coming soon
I'm feeling unstoppable right now..

It would be awesome to have a party like this in an actual venue with people above the age of 18 but yeah... I guess that's the scene. Hope all you kids had fun staying up past your bed time.

Lots of great music, not really the most comfortable environment to tell you the truth, and anyone who says otherwise is kissing ass unnecessarily. Studio Loco is just a loft, why the fuck did it have to cost $14 a head? Someone told me it cost $600 to rent out? You got RIPPED OFF!

Nothing personal, but I think it was the wrong spot and I think you got dissed by the NTK folks even if they made excuses. Totally not cool. But very typical!
I'm feeling boognish right now..

Yo what the fuck? Why are you attacking me over what I said? I need an escort because I thought this party was lame? Why the fuck would you attack me personally? I can't give a negative review of a party? Sorry that I'm not patting everyone else on the back and being a scenester. I think people benefit more from honesty than from a bunch of "party was so great" "so nice to see old faces and new faces".

So sorry to diss Studio Loco, but yo, downstairs is fine, upstairs is too smokey and uncomfortable. It was too crowded and I don't like partying with teenagers unless I'm being paid to babysit. Sorry to be ageist but I really prefer partying with adults. And I don't like paying $14 to see a bunch of locals, but then again I wasn't aware that 25% was going to charity. I would have preferred if I had the option to just toss you guys the $3.50 for that and gone home. The kicker though was that the NTK guys completely flaked out. I came to see them and James (Princestopiate) play and was thoroughly disappointed.

Oui et j'etait 16 ans en 1994. Je ne veux pas retourner. C'etait la misère.
I'm feeling boognish right now..

Another 15$ party at studio loco eh? Wow you're milkin' em dry eh guys?
Greed doesn't help a scene move forward, it helps your addictions and rent get payed.
On top of everything you still had no shows, was it because the sound was TERRIBLE again?
Or was it simply because there isn't a foot of space to dance or move in that apartment?
All I know is nobody pays to rent an apartment for 600$ to let people party in for ONE night.
It's unheard of. 600$ at studio loco would have to include several week-ends of partying,
and honestly...I don't even think you guys pay them anything, I think it's pure profit,
except for this recent charity, which went to GRIP instead helping African children get a bowl of rice.
Your cause is lost, whoever put this shame-full party on.

So be blinded by the greed people. It's your buck, why spend it
hanging out in a 4 room flat with TERRIBLE sound and warm beer?

*yawn*

Sorry Luke i wanna clairifie im not attacking
you !it was more of a joke but ya you can
expect younger people at hardcore partys
its just like that in MTL anyways studio loco
is not the ideal place 4 those kinds of partys
especially 2 rooms(i dont do 2 rooms when i throw my love partys)
but itsa cute and conveniant venue for smaller
partys!
PS; i had nothing to do wiz that party wasnt there
and its the owners that make the prices!

Ok ok, I retract... sorry tiny raver children who should be trying to get through HIGH SCHOOL, considering those are your FORMATIVE YEARS instead of turning into the next wave of drug addicts. Good luck getting jobs.

Sorry to snap at you about that shit though Sabi, you're still cool by my books, I'm just a bit on edge (see post re broken computer and actually getting booked for once NOW THAT IT'S FUCKING BROKEN $!&^!!@#&$@!^$&@!#^@$&!@$*^&!@$*& CRISS!). Quit doing chems as well, so it was hard for me to get into the vibe of that party.

Studio Loco would be awesome for an trip-out party, with one room. Other things, namely hardcore parties, yyyyyeaaah not so much.

I can't help but wonder, having been a part of Toronto's contemporary to GRIP, called TRIP (we were there first, too, the project was initiated in '96!), why GRIP is never present at any parties, handing out information, being part of the scene, generally trying to make sure people do their drugs safely and know exactly how it works (not like somebody's mom, but more like an informed friend), and why if they're in need of funding they don't get people to sign a petition promoting their cause, which is what TRIP did year after year in order to ensure that the MUNICIPAL government coughed up a sizeable grant so we could provide our services. We managed to actually get them to support us because we were actively participating in the Toronto party scene. GRIP is an embarassment. When I initially talked to them I was alarmed at how lousy their drug info was, how it tended to only discourage excessive use, without being smart enough to consider people who wish to do synchro-trips, and how it reminded me of the b.s. that you can find just about anywhere. Yeah, I'm bragging. But I know TRIP has always been one of the best harm-reduction organizations in Canada so all I'm saying is that GRIP should maybe consider speaking to them... but! Language barrier! Yeah, I realize this is Quebec and that there's this Bill 101 crap but the info GRIP puts out is almost exclusively in French, and half the outreach workers I met three years ago (I've seen no outreach since) couldn't speak a word of English. Well, a good portion of the staff at TRIP can speak O.K. french, I can name at least four people who were employed there while I was there, including myself, and GRIP still really didn't have much communication with us. I'm sorry but if GRIP is in need of fundraising, why don't they publicize it? Why don't they post anything on this forum? Why are they virtually invisible? Is Johnny Law breathing down your backs? If so, there is a way to work the system to indicate that there is a need for such harm reduction services, and you could ask TRIP how they did their grant proposals. Otherwise, you're not doing a good enough job. Sorry GRIP, I'm totally disappointed. You're going to have to represent or someone else is going to do your job for you. Ketamine and Speed are huge in this city but I haven't seen any sort of campaign to inform users on the perils of addiction and chronic use (or abuse, whatever you want to call it).

END RANT.

P.S.: I know some people out there *cough*Deadfunk*cough* believe that we shouldn't inform ourselves because of some sort of belief in Social Darwinism, but before you start your stupid retorts let me say YOU'RE TOOLS, STFU, NOOBS.
