Its called connections, and it applies not just to DJing, but to EVERYTHING in life!! Get use to it. How many people have worked for bosses who are idiots? People never find them selves in whatever position based solely on talent. I used to go to Sona and hear Tiga do some pretty sloppy mixing at times, but it didn't matter because he owned the club, a label, and a record store. Now he's one of the top DJs in the world and he earned it. So meet people, build a reputation, throw parties, get involved in the business, take risks, Also, most people who say stuff like that are delusional about their level of skill, or are not considering the fact that what they play often has less popular appeal than what the so called "shitty" Djs are doing. (i.e. Tiesto) |
