I was thinking of getting a Novation remote SL zero for live shows. It's compact, lights up, and feel good. My only issue is that it doesn't have any good pitch bend controls, which are pretty key...so I was wondering if there was a simple unit I could add on. The Korg kaoss pad is really cool, but overkill. Does anyone make a little joystick that would suit this purpose?
Thanks.

yeah - that's actually a really good call - I just did some research and any joystick can be used to send midi signals with the help of some programs. Now I just need to search for a cool very simple joystick - ideally I'd get one like the old atari jotsticks.

I dunno where I saw it, but there's a download somewhere for a program that allows you to assign midi functions to any gamepad.. Get yourself a PS2 USB adaptor, or an Xbox 360 controller, and you've got 2 analog sticks to work with..
I'm feeling warcracktastic right now..

yeah - there are quite a few of them. MIDIJoys seems to be a pretty popular one: [ www.soundtower.com ]

Yeah I had a girlfriend like that once.

old atari joysticks are digital...better get an analog stick if you wanna do anything more complicated and on/off.

yeah - I'd probably be using it for pitch bend, so at least 24 points inbetween full left and full right

atari sticks are analog.. afaik. Digital pads weren't common until the 90's

Don't forget whatever I'd be getting would be new enough to have a USB connector - so it would be an "Atari style" joystick, like the Competition Pro USB.

I want to keep it simple - I'm just going to be using it for pitch bend and maybe mod - so one or two buttons and a joystick is all I need.
