| the only good reason to use reason (no pun intended) is if you are collaborating on a track. It's very easy to send the files back and forth without having to have hundreds of megs of audio tracks and 20 vsts installed on each person's computer. |

| moi je suis un peu déçu je croyais que le synth allait etre plus hot.Pis tout ce qui manque dans reason c'est des entré!!!!! pour plug-in dans reason pis des in pour faire repassé dedans comme des send/return ex: si tu veux faire passé un effet externe pis retourner dans reason...
Deplus avec tout les plug-in de syhtn qui a sur le marché y on besoin de sortir de quoi de vraiment fort pour que ça marche j'usqu'a là chu soso..mais bon le rex reste cool surtout quand tu crées tes propre truk avec recyle. Y a aussi le redrum que je me sert desfois sinon reason est de plus en plus mis de coté.... |

| If you've bothered to sit down, install something as huge and complex as Logic and then learn the in and outs of it, its sort of self defeating to go "down" to reason. I'm in the same situation with Cubase vs Abelton. I spent the last.. what.. 8-10 years learning Cubase? Now everyone I know is moving to Ableton and urging me to do so. I can see where they're coming from but DAMMIT... 10 fucking years on the same sequencer...
This said.. I know people who use Reason, like Omni here, and do pretty fucking amazing shit with it. In the end, whatever floats your boat I guess. But personally I'd switch to Abelton before Reason.
The collaborative aspect is cool... but then again I'm too much of an asshole for people to want to work with me :) |

| i use Live for like 4 years and it's quite the most exciting sequencer on earth in my book
Reason can be cool for specific stuff but that's it. i hope they improve the audio engine tho |

| I think it's all about comfortability, and I've made some sick tunes with Reason, in fact 60% of the tunes I've made up to date were made on Reason and now I'm learning how to rewire everything back into Logic. |

| and i use fl, for 5 years now, there is a lot of people dissing fl, but these people dont make anything better with reason/live/cubase wtv,
its not about the program, its about the person using it
the only thing with fl is that the audio engine is muddy.. |

| As most of you pointed out, it's about how comfortable you are with the software. I agree that getting to know a new software is a pain in the ass when you already know one inside out. For me, since I know Reason very well, the outlook of a new version with improvements and new capabilities is certainly good, but I'm already using other software to do what I can't do with Reason. I guess I'll always use Reason for at least some things (drums + most of the sequencing + automations), but I'm already using Live + VSTs to make better synths sounds. I'll tell you what I think about this new version once I try it. ;) |
