with my many experiences in many of montreals hospitals, the only hospital I swear by is the Jewish. They did the best they could for my dad, the nurses were all very nice and it was cleaner and more organized then many of the other hospitals I've been too. Overall I would say they are the best and the only hospital I would go to in emergencies or even just for routine stuff.

The two worst hospitals in my opinion are the lakeshore and the general... the lakeshore gave my dad meds that he was allergic to, because the nurse didnt read his chart and he had a nasty little time getting through that episode and when my mom was in the general, a nurse hooked her up to a glucose I.V. withouth checking her chart which would have shown her that my mom is DIABECTIC... needless to say, we were seriously unhappy about that little mix up, if my mom wasn't paying attention, we might have lost her on that one...

I unno, these days I think the best plan is simple to not get sick at all, like ever, that way you don't have to worry about all the messed up things that could happen to you in a hospital..

Ufot-the hospital
I'm feeling flip the bird! right now..

Your Dad is in his 80's?

My dad died in 2000, at age 84 (he only survived a few months after they found out about the cancer). He would've celebrated his 91st birthday this year.
Let's just say the age difference between my parents was larger than my current age. (Hey, I could give that as an algebra problem in middle school, couldn't I ? ... >< )

Oh, I'm not complaining that he died.
I'm complaining about the suffering, the dignity loss, the way the metastasis were eating at his brain and making him demented, the bouts of lucidity that let him see what his illness did to him.
The doctors themselves said that he'd had this cancer for at least two years when they found out about it. Oh, I know he could've had another debilitating illness somewhere down the line. But personally, I figure if you don't have alzheimer by age 80, you're likely gonna die of something else before you become senile.

I'm suprised that the doctor's do that. I have to go to the doctor's everyday to get new bandages cause I have a cut that got extremly infected and I usually have a different doctor and they all go "OH WOW!" "Oh dear thats a huge infection"

I KNOW!!!!!

I hate going to the doctors, the first doctor I went to just gave me anti botics, but a week later it just got so much worse that I needed to get phsyical treatment on it right away.
Anyways least the place I have to go to is decent enough.

But these nurses and doctors get paid shit, so they usually act like it too.

man, last time I tried getting an appointment to the general, I was told that they weren't taking any new patients unless you come in for a massive emergency.

i spent 6hrs in the waiting room with a ponctured lung... thats no fun
when they saw the xrays, they rushed me in the operating room saying i could have died in the following hours
they stuck up a tube in my lung for 2 weeks... then 3 months later, i was back in the operating room getting my lung fixed for good... hopefully..
spending nearly a week in a hospital sucks quite hard
I'm feeling longueuil right now..

Yeah, believe me, I know, I spent close to 2 months in the children's when I was 13, most of it up in the ICU.. Not a fun place to be, but it's better than being dead.

Uww.. I think the worst one is Notre-Dame. My aunt had breast and brain cancer, they've put here in this little.. little.. LITTLE room, with a BIG BIG BIG light. First of all, they really suck. She had cancer in her uterus, and they decided not to remove her ovary. So, cancer continued to go along, and went to her breast. Come on! What kinda treatment is that? They just don't care. I think it's unfair to die at 42 years old. God it unfair!
I'm feeling bitch right now..

The Hospital on Lassomption near Jean-Talon isn't bad at all I find either...

When I was a kid I went to the Jewish General cuz I had a chicken pocks... they sent me home saying I had scarlet fever and put me on some stupid antibiotics. Then I went back to school and all the teachers were like... dumbass you have chicken pocks and I infected like half my class. How the fuck do you fuck up chicken pocks... that's like kind of a hard disease to confuse.
I'm feeling better :) right now..
