I Want A Powerbook G4

| Hey all, I really really want to buy a PowerBook g4 at LEAST over 1ghz, I don't care about the screen, HD, RAM, or anything else so long as it is in perfect 'working' condition. Any ideas where I should look other than eBay? Maybe you're trying to sell one or know someone who is? Let me know by PM or here. |

| maybe he means you can get a good G4 laptop for less with an Ibook
on my side, i do have a ibook 14" 1.42Ghz with 1Gb of ram and it's pretty cool :) |

| Oh, well, it has to be a PowerPC processor and the old iBooks weren't all that powerful, considering they are all old, I should be able to find one for under 1000$. Thing is my blazing iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33ghz can't run old VST's, I need old vst's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Similar question for you guys, would a 1gz G4 be with say, 1GB of RAM be powerful enough to run at least a few tracks in a sequencer? Or should I definitely aim for somewhere around 1.5ghz? |

| look at my setup and my answer is yes(ibook G4 1.42Ghz with 1GB ram). for sure i have to freeze tracks or to render them in audio but yeah it's cool, i run FM8 and it use like 25% of cpu in average. i want a mac-intel really bad but for now, it does the job well. more rendering but i dont care, the way you can manipulate the audio in Live is very cool ;) |

| true, it would be easiest to have it all come at once, but if I find a deal on a fast processor, I best take it regardless of RAM... |

| yeah ram isn't a big deal to upgrade.. But I don't even know if a 1ghz g4 will cut it, especially if you are coming from a core 2 duo system... Anything less than 1.33 will probably seem slow as hell.. |
