more like lazy fucksticks trying to find the EASIEST way to make money.

the guy clearly said on the radio.. "hey it's not the 900million I want, but these days, if you askl for 900Mil, they;ll cut you a deal at 50 Million"

ohh thanks for explianing that logic for the rest of us.

they probably asked the rappers and not the producers.

and they probably didnt ask the people who gave them th emoney to write the tracks.

in any case,he deserves what he gets..

he should at least pay his taxes on all that free money.

its sampling, but its not as bad as sampling a complete melody and saying you produced the whole track, except if the sampling is part of the track, i mean, while doing a remix you sample the original, in a breakdown, like i do, but its still sampling, herm, sampling is fun, but not too much, herm, at least i understand myself, thats the iportant part!

Sampling is sampling. If you want to release whatever it is and not risk a lawsuit, you need to clear and pay for every single sample you use, and state it's source in your copyright/credits/liner notes.

Technically, if the remaining members of the winstons wanted to, they could put their lawyers to work and have every single tune that uses the amen without having payed royalties shut down and pulled from shelves, and have all the artists that made the tunes get sued for a percentage of the money they made using the winstons' copyrighted material.

If you aren't using a drum machine and synth, it's technically copyright infringment, and the more recognisable/longer the sample you use, the more chance you have of getting busted for it.

The whole thing with DJ Drama, was that he didn't pay for a lot of the instrumentals and accapellas that he used in the mixtapes that he made a fuckload of money with, so it's his own fault for not securing the rights to what he does.

If you're going to get paied for using other people's music, you need to make sure they get their cut, because the bigger you get, the more likeley that are of finding out about you and going after you for all your worth.
