i have respect for anybody who tries to learn how to mix (for real, not just tries it and loses interest, the people who put years and years of effort and patience into developing technic and style) It's not easy to learn how it takes displine and preserverance to push through those times you know that 95 % of whats comming out of your speakers is garbage, but's it's that 5% that you're trying to refine into solid gold that you keep hunting. I consider myself to be at best a medicore DJ, and i've had to work really hard to get to where i am now with it, and i'm still working on it every chance i get...Some people touch a pair of dex and their just gifted everything seems to work for them...But i think for the majority of people who do it it takes alot of hard work, ask anyone who is really serious about it and they'll tell you that every second or third thought that runs through their head is about improving how they mix...

I think more modesty is in order for alot of DJs, if you really are good then your recorded mixes and live performance should speak for themselves. I think it's so...how should i say this..perhaps..'vulgar' or even 'crass' to flaunt it even if you are really good and if your not even lamer...Good DJs get booked bad DJs...just don't...a good example of someone who is talented yet at the same time modest is somone like Somsay, he is really good, but i don't think i've ever heard him either in person or on the internet or anything blabing on about how good he is...

the only time i really think anybody deserves real disrespect as DJ is when the 'hype' (their talk) doesn't live up to their reality (their walk), i think everyone who is genuinely trying to play and improve themselves all the time regardless of musical genre should be encouraged to keep struggling on, the world of Djing is competitive enough whithout us being like rabid wolves to each other...

anyone just what i think about the whole thing, don't take my word for it, go out buy yourself a pair of Dex a mixer and some records and you too can join the exiting world of play back artistry.
I'm feeling surly right now..
