You might have noticed that your post count has changed a little. This number actually reflects the REAL number of posts you have. Before the delete script didn't remove posts sometimes but now don't worry about it since the number will always be your REAL number of posts! I fixed all the problems and it should be good from now on! |

BTW: I am going to add "Top Monthly Posters" to the site. Because It's not fair to try and keep up with the people who have been posting for a year, this gives you a chance to be the best for a month! |

*blink*
if i made it, then it was neoformed.. yes.. the same way something you make would be clowned.. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» clown replied on Mon Feb 3, 2003 @ 9:55pm |
well, clowned can't be used as an action, it can only be used like this..
Stop clowning around... or are you finished clowning.. as in neoform, well, it doesn't just mean disorting things, it means neodisorting things.. if my nick was neoclown, THEN you could say stuff like, i can't believe the way you just neoclowned that.. its all in the neo |

Clown, that was not a proper use of 'neoform'.
It's current usage within the ravewave dialect implies an obscene abuse of logic. Although characteristically internet based, it's apparent usage is legitimate in any logical argument in which the 'neoformer' is twisting logic. Standardly, the 'neoformee' will use the word in order to identify what can be classically referred to as a logical fallacy. One such fallacy would be Ad Hominem: Description of Ad Hominem Translated from Latin to English, "Ad Hominem" means "against the man" or "against the person." An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. Typically, this fallacy involves two steps. First, an attack against the character of person making the claim, her circumstances, or her actions is made (or the character, circumstances, or actions of the person reporting the claim). Second, this attack is taken to be evidence against the claim or argument the person in question is making (or presenting). This type of "argument" has the following form: 1. Person A makes claim X. 2. Person B makes an attack on person A. 3. Therefore A's claim is false. The reason why an Ad Hominem (of any kind) is a fallacy is that the character, circumstances, or actions of a person do not have a bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made (or the quality of the argument being made). Example of Ad Hominem Bill: "I believe that abortion is morally wrong." Dave: "Of course you would say that, you're a priest." Bill: "What about the arguments I gave to support my position?" Dave: "Those don't count. Like I said, you're a priest, so you have to say that abortion is wrong. Further, you are just a lackey to the Pope, so I can't believe what you say." Ad Hominem is just one of many logical fallacies, for a fairly complete list with descriptions & examples, this site is pretty good: [ www.nizkor.org ] . |

"Trance sucks"
"Of course you'd say that, your a jungle DJ" "But I have valid reasons for saying trance sucks" "Yeah, but they don't count because your an elitist jungle DJ, so you HAVE to say that everything that isn't jungle sucks." Is that a good example of neoforming? |
