i saw it
it was fun
we get to know where leatherface got his "face" from
how Hoyt became the sherrif
overall i think it was a good movie, although not as good as the original
but yeah, like Ian said it's way too short and some scenes are kinda rushed..
Thomas Hewitt is a freak !
I'm feeling (plus 44) right now..

I knew it.. Why do they feel the need to have to "explain" everything. Him being a psycho just isn't enough? You gotta know WHY he's a psycho? Completely take away from the mystery and horror of some fucking lunatic killing people with a chainsaw by humanizing him and giving people a reason to sympathize with him.

I still wanna see it though.

I only saw I guess the first one but it wasn't that kind of movie where there's this dramatic story. It was 2 hours of a girl being chased by a psycho with a chainsaw. Part of what made it good is they didn't talk and waste time. Meh, some things should just be left alone.

yeah, the original was a lot darker of a movie, and contrary to what most people think, there's barely any gore in the movie. It relied on acting and atmosphere instead of cheap scares. The remake was alright, they at least managed to keep it pretty dark, but they took out the main element that made the people not just crazy, but absolute nutbags, and that's the canibalism aspect. They weren't just a bunch of psychos that wanted to kill you, they wanted to eat you and sell you as BBQ!

The 2nd one, while a lot funnier (TCM2 is to the 1st what Evil Dead 2 is to the first Evil Dead, a sequel to the original, but with a slightly more comedic take on the whole thing) but it was also really good and had some amazing scenes. Worth a watch just to see the scene where Dustin Hoffman is trying out chainsaws

i agree with you screwhead. the remake wasn't that bad but they never repreduce the same uncomfurtable feeling that i had when i watched first time the scene of the original one
where the girl is in the "chiken room"!

- Oh, oh, oh
Sitting here with nothin' to do
Sitting here thinkin' only of you
But you'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there.
Texas chain saw massacre
They took my baby away from me
But she'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there
I don't care, wohoho

When I saw her on the corner
She told me told me told me told me
She wouldn't go far
Ooh, now I know I'm so much in love
'Cause she's the only girl that I'm ever thinking of
I'm feeling gainsbourg right now..

Eyh and in the ORIGINAL they're a family of satan worshipers...they're voodoo spell casting freaks! They really fucked this movie up big time.

yeah, voodoo has absolutely nothing to do with satan, it's a completely diffrent set of beliefs.

Voodoo is simply an african religion involving many different gods.. there's nothing inherantly evil about it.. at least no more than any other religion..

It was an hour and a half of mindless violence. I sat there thinking, what does this add to my life?

At least the violence was well done and the camera did not shy away. Apart from that though, ugh.
I'm feeling relieved right now..
