It's not so much that they have a lot of money and power, as it is that they only share it with "their kind". It's like a self-imposed stereotype. My father's in the needle trade (not selling heroin, making/selling fabric) which has a very strong jewish presence. He's had to fake being jewish just to get buisness from other jews. Caries around one of those little hat things and it "falls" out of his pocket if he's been having trouble getting buisness from a jew, and usually they end up giving him 4-5 times more buisness and are willing to do it at a higher price without haggling because they think he's "one of them". |
