but the question is ... do you hear a diference, NO do all of your samples in the track at this rate, no, so its useless, do in the system you will be playing it, will it sound better? no... so, unless you make i listen in a bang & olufsen 500,000$ worth system to a world known audiophile, its pretty useless, cause you cant affrowd shit that will play all this quality... so saying that your cool because you sample at another rave than 44 16 or 24 bit or whatever, you kinda look stupid to me .... | |

it does phase, you can try it when you produce a track, example, take a 909 open hat sound, and clone it and put it at the not-same exact place as the other, but real close, it will sound like that phaser effect because i dont think the frequencys are added, they are just deformed, since its almost impossible to synchronize 2 sound EXACTLY perfect, and by exactly i mean to the 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x sec

when you get slick with phasing you can pull off some pretty intense stuff... of course now that it seems pretty standard to have effects built right into mixers you don't have to do it manually anymore... but it feels pretty fuckin' cool when you can work effects live just by brushing records lightly. |

And maybe you are wicked smart and will make the greatest engineer that ever lived. But noone can understand a god damned word of what you are saying. Now being intelligent is half the battle, but the other half is being able to communicate your great ideas. So perhaps you could start using full on sentences, preferably subject-predicate ones, maybe you could even throw in some transition words and punctuation for good measure. I like "despite what some may say... 2 bass lines sounds fuckin HUGE... and you can adjust your mids if it sounds funny."... I don't see a lot of DJs mix 2 bass lines... I personally love to do it, but it doesn't work with any two songs. If the lines are two similar it sounds like there's something wrong with the (seemingly) one bass line that's playing, while 2 very diferent bass lines won't work together and will sound unorganized. I also like to mix with both crossfader and channels. You can do really neat stuff with the crossfader if you learn to use it properly. Most DJs just refuse to touch it... It's there for a reason, aside from hip-hop scratching. | |

well, it's a good idea, but you can't really do long blends with that.. Most drummers, even the tightest ones, can't keep 100% time like a sequencer can, and most of them would have to be recorded to a click track/metronome to get it right, if not they vary too much for any long mixes.
Some stuff works great, though. Like ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man, works with anything in the mid 120bpm ranges.. Sounds great with some electro :P | |
