Some drawings mock slaughter, others question Israel’s Palestinian policy Tehran – An Iranian newspaper’s contest for holocaust-related cartoons has drawn 700 entries from 200 people, with some drawing mocking the Second World War slaughter: One entry shows Jews going into a gas pipeline. Most contest entrants are Iranian, but six are from the United States and few cartoons have been submitted from as far away as Indonesia and Brazil, according to the Hamshahri newspaper. A few of the drawings have been posted online. Hamshahri began the contest last month as a test the west’s readiness tp print cartoons about the nazi killing of six million jews in the second world war. The contest, which runs though may 15th, comes in response to the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad that sparked protests across much of the Muslim World. to making fun of genocide and millions of deaths also, i d like to point out that it was a danish imam who distributed a booklet with many insulting cartoons to the middle east, hence all the riots (the pamphlet had the cartoons from the jl-denmark paper, but more offensive ones that werent even printed) |
