Went to shyfx last night at the foundry and my ears are still ringing. i don't get it, during the Skratch Bastid's set the sound was fine. it was only after they switched to the allen & heath xone:62 did the sound get all muddy. its a shame, all i could make out during shy's set was the bassline. that venue has some good potential but it's in serious of some sound cutrains. if it were any louder you'd be reading newspaper stories titled "Death by reverb : Club goers suffer head implosions."
anyways, thats my 2 cents. Btw, Skratch Bastid's set was the best of the night. |

remember that pop-tart commercial with the guy that goes "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMM" with the ghetto "east-siiiiide" hand gesture or whatever?
Thats the only way I can review this event. :) |

personally i thought the sound was also shit during skratch bastid's set, but it was much quieter, so not as painful.
big MASSIVE huge ups to all involved for overcoming last minute weakness (i won't point any fingers wink wink nudge) but corey and andrew and all involved did an amazing job of finding a sick new venue within like, 24 hours, and of directing people to the venue and making everything possible for people to have an amazing time. sure it had to close at 3, which ended up being 3:30 anyways, but fuck, that was sick. trying to figure out today if that was montreal's biggest room for DnB ever... maybe Roni Size @ metropolis in like 98? wow. the buses, the massive warehouse sound, all added to the unmistakable 1994 flavour of the entire event. yes, this was a night to remember to cap off a crazy weekend for montrealers, if this shit keeps up summer 06 is gonna be FUCKING FUCKING totally crazy. nutso. big ups again to all involved |

Was a little thrown off at the begining of the evening with the venue switch, but ended up having a really good time. Wasn't in the dancing mood unfortunatly. Sound was really hard on my already frail ears. I wish I could have found some earplugs.
Soo many fine women out there. It was crazy! Like Steve metioned, I hope this vibe keeps up till summer! |

Fuck yeah. Liked the "girls trippin out in front of DJ on Speaker" bits..
it wasn't "Bouge de la" and shit. I unno, but I felt like in a UK party.. so that's sick man. Getting out of this (montreal) world experience. Might've been cause of the McGill crowd, which just totaly threw me off guard. Sound was way too loud. Which woulda been just perfect for the last hour maybe... But I had to duck behind the Booth to not be ear raped. Big tings a gwan for 06 |

much RESPECT to hustler, corey and co. for bringin in a major headliner and doing an awesome job on the promotion. seriously, it seemed as if every blank concrete surface on the entire montreal island had that familiar ALL ABOARD post plastered on it, and it showed in the large and diverse crowd that turned up. was funny watching dnb newbs trying to bump'n'grind to shyfx, but maybe they'll get hooked and be like, so where can i hear some more of this dnb shizness?!! thumbs way up on the large, spacy and airy venue, shame it had to shut down so early tho. at this moment my palms are sweaty just pondering what future events might be hatched up in the diabolically ambitions minds of afterdark etcetera, who could imagine that T.dot headz would be flocking to montreal for a dnb event? |

Nice view though.
So I turn around at one point, and this girl turns around and offers me a cigarette. So I asked her if she was called Mryam. Turned out she was. And we had met on [ www.couchsurfing.com ] and talked on the phone about her gicing me her king sized mattress. I still have to find a pick up truck if anyone has any. |
