 Coolness: 51650 | i was just looking at the controversial cartoon again and i have an open question: who, exactly, deemed that picture to be a representation of mohammed? to me it looks like a generic guy wearing a turban with a bomb on it. who ever said that it was a representation of mohammed? was there a caption underneath alluding to that, which, at some point, got cut off the drawing in the various circulating copies? does it say it on the arabic writing on the turban? can anyone translate that?..

So even if nobody knows the face of God, it's supposed to be him. And what Basdini said was right: 1)it is an insult to islam to depict the prophet (Idoltry) 2)it is even worse to depict him in an unflatering light (desparaging the prophet) Arabic papers justify their Cartoons against Israel by saying that they may depict Ariel Sharon as Hitler, but they would never insult or make desparaging comics about their God. |
