Heck, when I was in sixth grade, the dj's at our dances only played vanilla ice and really cheezey pop music. We demanded Nirvana and Greenday... but they were too innapporpriate us little kids. Pfft. I was maybe 13 or 14-years old when I first heard Rage, but I never really understood their lyrics, I just loved their lead guitarists and their attitude was just so hardcore. But now, 12 years later, I listen to it again and it's almost as if all these new meanings have emerged out of their songs. I dunno, it's weird. It's the same thing with Nirvana... very well made...really funny,i laugh a lot! but kind of sad in the same time because you have this guy who believe in the american dream and he's the only one in his entourage who think it's gonna happen! but i think it's cool because he create with what he had! but now because of this documentaire his movie'coven' is becoming a cult! this guy~mike sckank who made too much pcp and lsd is hilarious! a kind of obese beavis...if u know what i mean.. SYNOPSIS: On the northwest side of Milwaukee, Mark Borchardt dreams the American dream: for him, it's making movies. Using relatives, local theater talent, slacker friends, his Mastercard, and $3,000 from his Uncle Bill, Mark strives over three years to finish "Covan," a short horror film. His own personal demons (alcohol, gambling, a dysfunctional family) plague him, but he desperately wants to overcome self-doubt and avoid failure. In moments of reflection, Mark sees his story as quintessentially American, and its the nature and nuance of his dream that this film explores. nirvana was such of an important band for me when i was maybe between 10 to 14..i still remember when claude rajotte announced his suicide at musique plus...really sad...i think he was my first lover..(i mean, in my dream...) i was crying so hard! my parents hated nirvana...they tought kurt was too nihiliste... i was always in my room listening that and they tought i was going to kill myself ! but i mean..now i can understand them because if my daugther is screaming in his childhood fisher price mic " i hate myself and i want to die" all day long... = i'm gonna freak out too....awwww teenager crysis! now i never listen that again..make me too sad,in the wrong way! :( |
