hi all

i've got travel plans towards the middle and the end of 2006 that'll require a huge stack of money

not an impossible amount of money but it's a whole lot

already taken into consideration that i've got to get more organised about certain things and make alot of cuts... change of lifestyle to make these objectives

simple things like make a lunch everyday instead of buying a lunch at work
never eat out anymore... or very little
dont spend on stuff i dont need (magazines, hip clothing, video game paraphelia)
sell stuff i don't use everyday

the intention of this post is to ask for some advice on how i could make money on the side with my abundance of free time and maybe a few trips cause i remember some of you here doing big budget trips....

as opposed to me setting out across canada flat broke for 3 months with a backpack and no sense of direction... just cause a trip like this doesnt require any planning at all

open an account with ingdirect and use the automatic save program, which will take automaticaly X$ from your account each week/month at a specified date and put it in your ING Direct account, quite usefull!

Honestly, I know it sounds stupid but I find an easy way to save money is to keep it in a separate account from your spending money. That way you know exactly how much you have and you won't be tempted to dip into it.

That, and prostitution.

Seperate accounts work, ING works too, another option so you dont spend as freely is making it so that when you want to take out money you have to go into the bank and see a teller, you make a budget and figure ou how much you need for food, clothing ect, and how much yu have extra to spend every month, or per paycheck..

Good luck!
Im currently doing the same thing, its really ough, but I live with my parents, I give it to them and they keep track of how much im at... I am having trouble spending money less freely though, so I think im gonna get rid of my debit card and make it so I ave to go into the bank to get money, banks have the worst hours!

ing is good cause of the compound interest
doesnt make too much of a difference when you're only putting peanuts in there every week to make a big difference in short terms time

still its a start

what kind is good to buy from suppliers overseas and easily sold with a good markup on ebay?
