Lol, the spinner had to be more careful
Ça se fait juste pas spinner au milieu de la crowd...

Anyways.
Hmm, but isn't a rave a TAZ?
Is there really a difference?

Ok je veux dire, c'est sur que des méga-partys avec Tiesto c'est pas des TAZ, c'est juste de l'adoration de DJ... Mais ça je considère pas ça comme un rave anyway.
For me rave = TAZ...

Yeah... that's to you... but when most people think "Rave" they think things like Celebration... which I just think of as "big dance party"...

Or like the stupid-ass media with " yesterday, the Black & Blue rave was held once again at the Olympinc Stadium... "

Black & Blue rave. Ok yeah sure, fuckwads. Journalisms should be about RESEARCHING your topic before you utter some imaginative nonsense. If you would've done your job properly and interviewed people AT THE frigging party, you would see that the word RAVE doesn't come up ONCE, retard.

It is called a GAY CIRCUIT PARTY once and for all, dammit.

On the topic of being fucked up at a rave, I agree.

It's like all of the sudden people don't costume themselves anymore at Halloween parties. Would be fun, wouldn't it ?

Please don't tell me it's different :

- Halloween is one-shot thing per year. Raves are a one-shot deal, period.

- Halloween is about dressing in a way you can't obviously dress normally. Erm, raves were and still should be about that.

- At Halloween, you're not afraid to look weird, on the way there, at the party and on your way back. At raves, you can't be seen wearing primary colors. WTF's up with that ? It's a RAVE, not a Gucci fashion show.

- Raves should be about fun. I don't see FUN in a pair of Jeans, Reebok sneakers and a white tank top / t-shirt. I don't even wear that to get drunk at a local pub or when everything's in the laundry, for God's sake.

- Imagination and fun DO go together well. A mix of both does not equal nitroglycerin.

- Decked out in Tommy Hilfiger and waving 2 glowsticks is NOT using your imagination.

- It doesn't have to be costly. I have an awesome purple t-shirt written" Aciiiiied " in fluorescent yellow. Cost : a whopping 10$ at Winners.

- For the love of God, LET GO OF SOCIETY -IMPOSED FASHION STEREOTYPES for at least ONE night and wear that orange pair of running shoes that don't fit with ANYTHING. You'd be suprized how well it'll make you look there.

And remember, DON'T BE AFRAID TO DRESS WEIRD. Why ? Cause you AREN'T going to be the only one doing it ! I do it at every party I go and more than 50% of the time, I get complimented by total strangers on just that. THAT alone is worth it.

Actually.. like I said.. you'd probably end up with a fuckwhack of dumbass kids calling Black & Blue a rave... they'd be wrong... but they still call it that (see my comment regarding a "rave at aria"... grrr)

Meh.. its not everybody's thing... I love raves... I've never glowsticked... and I only take off my shirt if I'm mad hot (which will happen at a rave, a concert, a sporting event... whatever the case)... and I drop pills at only certain raves.. I dig the scene... its not for everyone... I can have just as much fun at a dnb jam though... or freestyle comp, or concert, or foufs... bla bla bal

dress how u like, where does dressing all candy to fit into the crowd and get compliments count.

sure its fun, but if that aint your cup of tea, then dress in yer white tshirt and blue jeans.

if everyone had gap clothing on, at the exact same party with every element of a "RAVE", would it not be a rave anymore?

What I disagree with are the people who WANT to dress all crazy but then chicken out.. I mean... come on... what more of an accepting environment could you ask for then a rave?

Well would a " restaurant " be called that if all you serve is all-dressed pizza ? That would suck, wouldn't it ? It's still food but what makes it fun is the VARIETY.

Too many people dressed ordinarely at a rave makes me think I'm actually partying in an afterhours in Laval.

Some people can dress normally if they want to...
Mais je trouve que plus y'a de freaks, plus on s'amuse :D
Freaks uniiiiite! :lol

Hmm, maybe because raves (or parties, TAZ, whatever you call em) are becoming a routine so people don't feel the need to dress up freak anymore... It shouldn't though.
Parties should be something special, not something you do every weekend.

Aerial Raver : well if a rave going to a party doesn't make him/her do something special, either partying became ordinary for them ( and a clear sign they should find some other activities ) or they're just too goddam lazy to think of something extra-ordinary to wear. I'm opting for the laziness. And if making an extra effort to get into the atmosphere of it all is too complicated and hard, then may I suggest they stay the f**k home which makes things even easier this way.

Madeskimo : I found ONE t-shirt like that. I was like " whaaaaaaaaaaaat ? ", almost ripped it off the rack and I held it in my hands greedily as would Smeagol hold the Ring. I'm guessing no one there was able to figure out it's meaning and purchase it. But I did. And boy I'm glad I did. I should find a way to post an image of it here one day.

not really. Hakim Bey's definition of a TAZ does not correspond to a rented out venue with security, promoters or sponsors. A teknival is a TAZ. A rave is not.
