After a long suspension regarding the validity of a part of the noise regulation for the city of Montreal, the Supreme Court of Canada overuled the Quebec's court of Appeal decision on the matter.

So basically... just watch the volume as the police might not be that "understanding" and "just let you off with a warning". :P

if the document is not provided in english aswell as french it's as if the document does not exist in my eyes and can be argued in court.

it reads that montreal's police is, from now on, allowed to charge people making too much noise (i.e. that can be heard from outside the building) as an infraction. this had been prohibited since 2002, but now they can do it again.

wasn't it only after a certain hour that this applied?

what if noise from ouside is comming INSIDE your house... Cars passing by that have loud engines or squealing tires really annoy me...
