the only patriotic french are those who'd like to see every single tanned person in a charter flight or just on the other side of the border (which means drown in the sea for most of them, actually).
well as you may have noticed i'm not part of them, i'm not patriot, and that's mostly why i think i won't live in france my whole life ! |

I hate france honestly.. it's way too fucking stuck up.. and I'm 1/2 british.. the kings of stuck up. |

i can understand that now that i've been here for 2 weeks.
but hmm i doesn't bother me, you just have to act as if stuck up people weren't there. it's just a matter of education ; but you might have some difficulties living in france if you didn't have this "proper" education. |

the proper way to deal w/ stuck-up ppl is to tell them to lick your ass. They like that. |

Oct. 30, 1995, wow so long ago... time pass so fast.
i voted NO. Afterward. me and my friend go drinking, we're heading downtown. The English side/crowd were chilling at Crescent, Peel, St-Laurent. i think the Liberal party were having the HQ at Metropolis. The French side were at St-Denis and everywhere east of that street. The PQ had the Palais des Congres as their HQ i think. After the ballots were finish counting, and the NO side won, people pour out on the street. We were on St-Catherine. There was something in the air, the feeling you get when you know what is everyone thinking that night. Anyway, youths were waving flags, either the Canada flag or the Fleur de Lys. People chanting the national anthem. I actually thought, hope something was going to happen. A riot, a massive fight, a grand fire maybe. St-Cath was closed and Riot Police were out in full force. I think it was our entire police force. But Helas! no Boxer Uprising, no May 1968 (France). It was quite passive.... it's like you had a big firecracker and when u lit it. It didn't explode. If there was ever a third referendum, i would vote yes just cuz i want chaos and disorder. I want Montreal seperated from Quebec and become a city state like entity. To live in a time of uncertain political climate. |

I'm late... but for the next referendum... i'll say yes, not because i'm a separatist... but nothing change, while we are Canadian... may be if we have our nation... time will show |

Kind of like the vatican. Where we could have the Aria as our Apostolic Palace. Kick ass. |

I'm sure that this Montreal-Separation thing won't ever pass after the referendum.
A bunch of frustrated anglophones will want this at any cost, but I don't think that the average joe who voted no at the referendum will be willing to go this far to rest in Canada. Also, the government of Quebec won't ever allow such thing, since people from the west-island and from Ville Mont-Royal had there chances to vote in the Referendum. And no Quebec parties said that it will ever approve such a thing. Even the liberals said that it would respect a yes at a referendum. Hypoticaly, if this ever happens, I'm moving out of Montreal for sure. |

Here you are saying that Quebec has the right to seperate from Canada, then you turn around saying Montreal doesn't have the right to seperate from Quebec? Man you're beyond hypocritical. well, people who would want to to separate Montreal from Quebec would have to make a political party that will be able to vote a law to do a referendum on this question. As a city/municipal power itself does not have this power and as the Canada won't be able to do any political influence in any region, I don't know how such law could be voted. That's my point.
I don't know where you saw/heard that separatists aren't welcome outside of the Quebec, but I traveled outside this continent and Quebec's march to sovereignty is quite respected. And, I was talking outside Montreal, not outside Quebec. |

Well hey, i guess i'm just have to start a political party and possibly a revolution.. maybe become a sovereignist for montreal's independance from Quebec.. and possibly reintegration into Canada.. I bet you'd LOVE that. Originally posted by MR. FROG...
